I can remember so much from the day you said goodbye
I sat in that same corner as a tear falls down my eye.
I remember putting on that screen front door for you,
Because you wanted the sunlight fron outside to shine through.

I remember when I was growing up, the crazy things you use to do.
I will never forget, how much I love you
I know that growing up, we were rather poor
But I also remember the shine you kept on every floor.

I remember that my friends had things that I didn't have,
But my life with you, was never really bad.
Yes we had our ups and downs, sometimes you were a trip
Yes you liked to talk trash and take a little sip.

But nothing changes the fact that you were my number one
You made so many sacrifices to get the job done.
Now most of our family is gone, close relationships are few,
But not a day goes by that I don't think of you.

I remember the day I gave birth to Damon. You had been out with your friends the night before so you were sleeping. I told you I felt a little sick so my best friend Diane was going with me to the clinic. But as I finished dressing and proceeded to comb my hair my water broke. I ran to you a little dumb 16 yr old saying Mom I'm peeing and I can't stop. She played it through her head two or three times then jumped up and said Fool your water broke
Off we went to University Hospital and at 5:07pm I had Damon, she was with me all the way.
