Etta V. Foster

Etta Victoria Foster was born on January 29, 1935 in Layland, West Virginia to the late Mary B. Cooper-Woods and Will Woods. A devoted lover and follower of Christ entered her eternal home on January 17, 2014, 

Sister Foster was raised in Melton, West Virginia where she attended and graduated from public school system. She then attended Lincoln Institute of Practical Nursing and gained her certification in 1953. She began her carrer as a nurse at Marshall Nursing Home, but later transitioned to the United States Postal Service until her retirement in 1992. She joined and thrived in the organization of the American War Mothers where she held many offices including National State President, Chapter President, treasurer and chaplain.

Ms. Foster married Samuel C. Bell, Sr. and from this union five children were born; Mary, Victoria, Samuel, Channie and the late Emmanuel. She later married her beloved husband, the late Thomas M. Foster.

She was a soilder for Christ and became a long time faithful member of the Greater Tried Stone Baptist Church. She held many positions with the Church including missionary and choir member. She loved attending church, but especially bible study and Sunday School until she was unable.

She leaves to cherish her memory, children Mary Chandler, Victoria Covington (Alonzo), Samuel Bell, Jr(LaJuane), Channie Bell; Special great niece Laura Woods-Stinney(Amos); Grandchildren Naketa Bell, Daveta Bailey, Samuel Bell, III, Santia Jackson, Donald C. Chandler, Dalonte' Bell and Johnathan Bell; Tweleve great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
