Etta Washington Day Price, 104, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away at the home of her daughter, Charlotte P. Dickerson on Monday, October 13, 2014.
A native of Granville County, the daughter of the late Samuel and Mattie Jones Day. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by the Rev. Norman Talley. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are six daughters; Mattie Lou Hancock, Annette Eddins and Charlotte Dickerson all of Oxford, Wilma Elliott of Smithfield, Ernestine Chambers and Cathy Taylor both of Timberlake, twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren and twenty-eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ernest Price and by two daughers; Helen Poole and Brenda Self, and two sons; Bernard and Elbert Price.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times the home.
