Mr. James was born in Langdale, Alabama, on Thursday, August 30, 1973, the son of Michele James Callich and the late Eugene “Gene” James, Sr. Mr. James loved people and was loved all that knew him. He had a good heart. Mr. James loved spending time with his son, fishing, music and reading.

Survivors include his mother, Michele James Callich; his son Cason Isaiah Smith; his siblings, David “Mikey (Mitzi) James, Eugene “Gene” (Jeanmarie) James, Jr., Pattijean (Neil) Horton, Renee’ James, Heather (John) Hood, Chris (Ana) Callich, Steven (Aynsley) Callich, and Richard (Michele) Cooper; his nephews, Cameron James, Killian James, Neil Horton, Jr., Marc Horton, Jeremiah James, Richard Cooper, Jr., Henry Callich, and Trent Waldroup; his nieces, Kaegen James, Faith Callich, Riley Callich, Georgia Callich, Hayden Waldroup, Rose Cooper, and Lily Cooper; many cousins and friends. Mr. James was preceded in death by his father, Eugene “Gene” James, Sr., maternal grandparents, Joe and Helen Landry; paternal grandmother, Barbara Tenney James; paternal grandfather, W. D. James; and his stepfather, Charlie Callich.
