Eugenia Averett Jackson, 84, a longtime resident of Butner, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Universal Health Care in Oxford.
A native of Granville County, the widow of the late Tillman “Tip” Jackson and the daughter of the late Dewey Young and Leora Currin Averett. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a member of the Open Door Sunday School Class. She was retired from John Umstead Hospital Dietary Department as a Supervisor. She loved to travel and did so as long as her health allowed.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Hwy 56 East, Creedmoor, NC by Dr. Marc Tilley. Private burial will be in Bullock-Oakley Family Cemetery.
Surviving is a daughter, Diane J. Currin (Jamie) of Creedmoor, four sons, Donnie Jackson, of the home, Larry Jackson (Peggy), Jerry Jackson (Susan), Ricky Jackson (Tammy), a daughter-in-law Alma Jackson, all of Stem, a sister, Mildred A. Jackson of Stem, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Jackson and a grandson, Scott Jackson.
Visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 25, 2012 in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church prior to the funeral service and other times at the home of Jamie and Diane Currin, 2136 Cedar Creek Road, Creedmoor.
