A daughter of the late Lawrence and Amy Birch Shipp, Mrs. Grier was born in Cusseta, GA, and was the beloved wife of the late Mr. Charlie Grier, Jr. She was a member of St. James CME Church where she served faithfully as a Stewardess, with the Kitchen Committee and Mother's Board. She was employed for over 20 years as a Dietitian at Martin Army Hospital, Ft. Benning, GA. She was member of the Eastern Stars- Prince Hall Affiliation, Eastside Social Club and the Moderns Club.

Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by two siblings, James Shipp, Sr. and Mae C. Smith.

Survivors include: a daughter, Terry Grier McGhee (Leonard); four sisters, Ida High, Emma Fullwood (Melvin), Betty McCluster and Vera Flowers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
