Evelyn was born on Feb. 27, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Earl and Vrouwke (Derksen) Moore. On March 7, 1981, she married Glenn Davis 

 Evelyn Davis took great pride in developing her Christmas and Spring Music programs for Hardin Elementary, grades kindergarten through sixth-grade. She benefited from the cooperation of fellow teachers and volunteer parents. Students auditioned for special parts in songs, solos and skits between songs. No child that wanted to volunteer for skits was left out. Her last program had more than 200 students in costume. The programs attracted so many parents and relatives that the larger high school auditorium had to be used to accommodate everybody.

Music teachers gain the benefit of developing relationships with students because they kept returning the next year at the higher grade level for six consecutive years. Grocery shopping was usually an hour longer because she never cut short conversations with students accompanying their parents. Her husband, Glenn videotaped all of her programs. Mrs. Davis taught for 32 years until retirement in 2003.

Evelyn kept 20 potted plants pots inside the house and more outside for their beauty and added benefit of attracting birds and butterflies. She enjoyed drives in the country with Glenn and their hundreds of trips east of the Mississippi to sell handcrafted butterfly gifts at craft shows. She also attended more 80 game conventions that her husband liked to attend over their 34 years together.

In recent years she and her husband took up bird watching going to migratory hotspots like Magee Marsh east of Toledo along Lake Erie. In 2014, they traveled 4,000 miles to 50 new locations to find 63 new birds to add to their check list. In 1983 they traveled with 15 others of a Cincinnati Zoo tour to Trinidad/Tobago Islands along with a camera crew to collect butterflies, beetles, spiders and reptiles. On another of her husband's nature excursions, she hiked 17 miles down the side of a mountain ridge when Glenn thought he had the map read correctly. Fortunately, a couple returning from a northwestern Colorado, back-country camping trip, picked them up at dusk, 10 miles from the nearest house.

Wow, did she love her man. Lucky dude!

Evelyn was a member of the retired Hardin teacher monthly "Lunch Bunch" and assisted in calling people to encourage them to join the group for the monthly gathering. She attended by-monthly meetings of the Shelby County Retired Teachers Association and was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma teacher society.
