Forever in our hearts ❤
You started off my banking career by handing over a very clean loan book back in 2007.
May your soul rest in peace.
Always Remembered.
Evelyn was so confident despite being an introvert, her words carried weight and man, try to win an argument with her, her knowledge and determination would just humble you down.
Her presence in the office was felt, her absence even more. What I appreciated most about her was how real she was. No bullsh*t, no games, no lies, no fear. Staying true to yourself no matter what. Keep your intentions clear.
It’s 2y since we lost her, my love and appreciation are ever stronger.
From your loving niece.
I remember working with you in PAF, not only were you a great mentor but also a great friend. I admired your ability to work with people and get solutions for the people. You shaped the healthcare financing landscape. Your style was a breath of fresh air.
RIP in peace my dear friend and rise again in God‘s glory!
That myth is more potent than history.
I believe that dreams are more powerful than facts-
That hope always triumphs over experience.
That laughter is the only cure for grief.
And I believe that love is stronger than death.
May you Rest In Eternal Peace..
I will miss you so much.
God always picks the best to be with him.
Fare thee well girl
My sincere and heartfelt condolences to your family, relatives, colleagues and friends. I am privileged to have known you, studied with you (Co-op Co) and served with you at Sidian (The then K-Rep) Bank.
Indeed the joy of meeting pays the pangs of absence; else who could bear this.... In you we have lost a comrade in the struggle for living and leaving a successful significant legacy by touching lives and giving back to the society.
Rest In Peace Evelyn
We only part to meet again.
On Thursday May 24, 2018 at 8:00pm you sent me “So.. came back from the doctors review appointment today and it seems like a bone marrow transplant after all is needed to treat the leukemia and is likely to cost between usd250k to usd300k. I reach out to you as friends and family to help me raise these funds. Your prayers and support is much appreciated. It's not an easy time or task for me but will continue to fight.”
I wrote back to you “Hey. What a sad story as my friend Isaac's wife had the same problem and had to be taken to India. We will keep you in our prayers and support. Wish you all the best. God shall provide and be blessed.” I wrote back to you to encourage you that it is treatable and that you need not to lose hope.
Barely a week later Sophia calls me and says its now an emergency and something had to be done immediately. I did not realize that you were not going to be with us long enough to see you through the struggle, pain and agony to get back on your feet and keep doing the great work you’ve been doing with passion and vigour and the impact it has on the world.
On Friday June 1, 2018 you supported us during our visit to the Light Children Home in Ekalakala and we touched the hearts of the kids being taken care of by Sister Lucy and Sister Josephine. On our way back we agreed to get friends to come together to assist in raising funds for your treatment but unfortunately the Almighty had better plans for you. We shall not ask questions, we accept as He is in better place to know when his servants will join Him.
This morning June 6, 2018 during my morning run I learnt a lot of lessons that no matter the challenges we face in life the race is always on and you inspired me to keep going. Usually I encounter a lot of distraction like the school buses, matatus etc but apparently today it was calm as they were fewer, however, when I got to the 9km mark feeling exhausted this runner passed me and what I heard was you motivating me to keep up with his pace. After a kilometre or so he had a muscle pool and had to stop and I likewise motivated him to struggle with the pain and finish the hill coming up to Riverside drive. He then branched off and that is when it hit me that you have also branched off but the race is still on to make the world a better place. Today your inspiration made me complete the 11kms in the shortest time this year.
From today you will forever inspire me and those who interacted with you and impacted with your good work. My message to your family and friends is that we strive and work towards living a healthy life and join hands together and make your wishes and goals be alive forever.
We shall miss your jovial soul, humbleness, your strong demeanor, kindness, happiness, laughter and inspiration you gave us. We shall emulate your goodness to the world and we thank God for the few years He gave you on this earth.
We shall remember you with the great things that are happening this month; the visit of Light Children Home which we shall turn into annual event, the launch of the MacOS 12 and The FIFA World Cup.
My heartfelt condolences and those of our friends in Racecourse and Kariokor go out to your family. We will surely miss the presence of a truly lovable and kind person. With a heavy heart, we pray for the eternal repose of one who was a woman of distinguished humanity.
Rest in Eternal Peace Nkirote.
Always full of life and energy...the basket ball games in the evenings at the Cooperative Bank Staff Training Court.
Lots of memories, - shine on Nkirote, rest with Angels.
fare thee well. .
I remember the times we all spent together at the retreat in Mombasa and how your smile easily lights up your face.
I wish we really did give you a reason to come to Nigeria like you wished but that never happened.
You left too soon Evelyn and took along with you your bright light with which you touched our world. The memories of you that I have will remain forever golden.
You will be sorely missed.
Rest on dearest Evelyn,we love you but heaven has you now.

My good neighbour
It's with great shock that I got to know about your demise. I remember when you would ask me to keep an eye on your house every time you travelled. You were a great neighbour who would always mind her own business . You were such a good neighbour for 4 years. May your soul rest in eternal peace Evelyn my dear neighbour.
I vividly remember way back in mid 2004 when you reported for your first assigment then in K-REP BANK Nyahururu. I inducted and mentored you and quickly mastered the art. we worked together for the next few years before I took up other assigments.May your soul rest in peace d</span>ear!</span>

Deeply saddened by the sudden news of demise of my friend and colleague. I shall remember her for openness, boldness, firmness, grit and passion she had for life in banking and healthcare financing. Fondly remembering all the meetings, trainings and forums we shared together and I can not believe you are no more!
Evelyn Gitonga, you may leave, but your memories remain. "Flowers may may wither, plants may die, friends my forget you but never will I".
