Ah my man! The years roll by so quickly. However, it isn't about me remembering you mate. Because of your lovely songs and how inspired I am by them, you are simply with me most of the time; when I am at home with Julie, in the car on the way to a gig, thinking about what I'm gonna play and then on stage when I talk about you and how we got to know each other all those years ago.

It may sound silly but it feels as if you are still here. I have just re-read a letter from David which he sent after he received Silver Collection which features a number of your works. Then I fired up the Mac and there was your tribute reminder. You will always be with me my friend.

Ewen, you are always in our thoughts.  Yesterday we had our first radio show in California for a Functional Health Forum and used the first minutes of your son "Dirty Water" for the intro/outro etc. It will be featured each Saturday for the next 13 weeks. Rick introduced the show sharing information to our listeners regarding you and your music.
Dearest Ewen you line on in the songs you wrote that people still enjoy listening to; they are timeless - what a wonderful legacy. I cannot wait to hear the new album "A Little Bit of Ewen"  Love always Sue and your family in the USA.

I'm looking out over the Camelford Valley in Cornwall where I live Ewen. I still carry your music with me wherever I go and I'm near to finishing a new recording which features four of your wonderful songs. I wish with all my heart that I could know for sure whether or not you are able to hear them. What I can tell you is that I have done the best job I could, always thinking of you as I worked. They don't come any better than you mate.

Like so many of those that leave tributes here Ewen, you are seldom far from my thoughts. On Monday next I will be saying goodbye to another good friend, Peewee Hunt from Trowbridge. He specifically asked for me to sing Sailors All. Your songs carry so much warmth and heart and remain an inspiration and tremendous comfort to us all. You wrote in a way that drew us all in. Lyrical and musical portraits of extraordinary clarity that still leave me breathless. Sleep on mate.

I guess we all have things that we say a lot or questions we ask etc. One of mine is, have you heard any songs by Ewen Caruthers? After all these years, I still find myself asking the same question. Ewen, your songs were written with such simple and articulate beauty, they surprise me and inspire me always.
