Words fail me, as i write this tribute of you. I never imagined i would be writing such at a time like this, because it is the most difficult thing to write of a loved one.
Although your memories remain in our hearts and forever will, i miss you grandma. The news of your demise on 23 may 2020 came to us as a shock after a brief illness. You were a wonderful grandma, your motherly attributes are rare. You are unique and great person to everyone. No one is perfect, but in all your sincerity stands out and your simplicity. I remember when you would call me 'ji m' meaning my husband and i will smile. Now who will call me that and make me smile, i miss you grandma. you may have passed on but your memories will remain with us.
Thank you for your sacrifices, your care, concern, your love and everything that you have done for everyone because you touched lives. Wherever you are, I know you are in a much better place. I will be forever grateful and thankful that you are my ‘grandmother’. And that i got the chance to know you. Such virtues are true qualities of a mom. Love you forever.

Rest in Peace Grandmother

Mama Agu was a very distinct, loyal, peaceful , patient, intelligent, virteous woman . She had very good sense of humor and always love to tell Bible detailed stories.. Each time she comes to AFRICAN Christian Fellowship, she will listen attentively to the Word Of God, and always relates back what she learned. Mama Agu loves God and humanity with all her heart. She fought a good fight and has received the unperishable crown. Mama, We, the ACF members missed you so much, but our consolation is knowing that you are at His bosom, and that we will meet again on the Resurrection morning to part no more. “ La na Udo ” NneOma”

I never thought this day would come, that I will be saying my goodbyes. I am going to miss so many things about you. your love towards me, your words of encouragement and how comfortable and happy I feel when you are around. Although distance may have limited our way of interaction, but you would always be in my heart. Hearing of your demise gave me a heartbreak, brought back memories, and made me feel sad. I am going to miss you "granny" as I always call you. I wish you a great resting place in the world beyond. Goodbye.

Ada mmadu, Mie Mr. Agu. Laa r'udo.
We grew up knowing you only as Mie Mr. Agu because of the important role your dear husband was playing in our society both at church and primary school. You and Mr Agu were a role model of what was to be expected of a loving and caring, upright Christian couple. Later on when I joined the Choir at Methodist Church Amaokwe Item, I learned that your name was Mmom Grace Agu. Then you used sing and also were a lay reader. As "ada mmanu okwa" of my grandfather, Elder James Udensi Igara, you transferred the love and affection you had for my grandfather to me. We talked and chatted as if there was no generational gap between us. You had a very big, loving, caring and generous heart that your own challenges never stopped you from picking up the phone to check on others. Ada mmadu, you lived a good life and ran a good race. We are very proud of you and we appreciate your love and will cherish every moment spent with you. Your memories will forever remain a blessing to us. May you rest in peace.

TRIBUTE TO MY GRANDMA
Grandma,
Your demise came as a shock to me. I was depressed, stunned, and distraught but was comforted by the beautiful memories of you and how much you meant to us all. You brightened up the darkest day and the closest sky.

Your smile alone warmed the hearts of all, music to our ears. I would give anything to have you well and standing near. Not a second passes that I dont think about you. My Granny, your grandson loves you even more than the seas and tide, without reason or season. Not loving you is treason.

In all, we thank God for a life well spent.
Love you, Grandma.

A TRIBUTE TO MY HERO.
Granny your death came as a shock as I was celebrating my birthday. Oh death, why did you take my Grandma away from me on that day. You went to America in the month I was born and died in the same month. I was expecting you to come back and call me that name which you loved to call me" Nedu nwa nde omei" not knowing that I will never see you again. You are very sweet, kind and loving. You cared about our family and us. I will always remember all the good things you've done for me. Whenever you come to visit us in Nigeria, you always support me in everything I do, whenever I am wrong you still always correct me and if I am sad you always make me happy. Granny, I will miss you so much. I love you, but God loves you more, may your gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.

A TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED MOTHER EZINNE GRACE UDE AGU
Nnem, Ezinne Grace Ude Agu, My First teacher, my first confidant, my first adviser, my first guide, To the world you might have been one person, but to me, you were the whole world. You left behind enduring legacies worth more than all the money in the world.
Who could dispute that you were a virtuous wife and mother? You had the patience and an enduring spirit. You were a Godly and devoted Christian, Loving and caring, Mother to many children who took care of everyone equally. You taught me the way of the lord and also led me aright by your examples. You taught me to study the bible and to be committed to fellowship. What more could I have asked for?
You and father always made me believe and have faith in God even when things are going wrong. When father passed on to meet the lord, you did not relent in your effort. You took it upon yourself to encourage us, and your prayers always go a long way. You will always say"tachi obi, ihe ga di nma. Legide chineke any'.
When Obasi called me by 6 pm on the 23rd of May 2020, the news of your demise was least expected. Although you had been sick, I was expecting the good news of your recovery considering the fact that you have been well taken care of by my sister Mgbechi and my brother Obasi in USA. Mama, I spoke to you on the 19th of May and you still joked with me. Although you were sick, you said, Nma Nna, you look so beautiful and we both laughed. Your voice sounded so strong, and you assured me that your heart is strong and itwasn't your time to die yet. Mama, you death correlated with myson's birthday, your favorite. Nwa Nde Omei, as you fondly call him. We were celebrating his birthday when I received a phone call from my brother saying 'you did not make it.' Immediately I threw the phone away and burst into tears. I cried because I did not expect your death, especially at this time but God knows best. I still find it hard to believe you are gone. I feel you are still in America.
Mama, the vacuum you created cannot be filled by anyone except God almighty. It is with this sorrow in my heart mama, nnem grace, miee Minta Agu, Mama Obialor, Ada Ukwu Oboyo, Aka enyi ukwu ana-ghi aba re akpa, Ude Obaji, I say Good night, Laa n'udo. We love you but God loves you most. Continue to rest in peace till we meet on the glorious day.

The love of a grandma is unique. God must have given us grandmothers to liven up our lives and make it better.
I lost my beloved grandmother on the 23rd of May, 2020. She was one special woman. Her demise was deeply felt though she lived a fulfilled life.
NneNne, as I fondly called you. You played a massive part in my childhood before traveling to the USA. Everything you do is with love. You taught me the meaning of love and family. Your zeal to bring the family together was endless. You are not just my Grandma but my inspiration.
I still can't believe my lovely Grandma has been taken from us. I will miss you my nnenne, but your strength and spirit live in each of us, and in the lives you have touched by love, strength, conviction, wisdom, and beauty of your soul.
You may have passed on, but your beautiful memories will always live within us.
Thank you for your sacrifices, love, care and concern you showered on us. Thank you for your selflessness. I will forever be thankful you were my nne nne. Rest in peace nne nnem. I will never forget you. I will love you forever.

Words can't adequately describe how I'm feeling. Grandma, I'm missing you. I still remember it like yesterday. When I left the bathroom, and I could feel you fighting for your life. Then I said, you've done enough mama, you've paved the way. Even though we didn’t want you to leave, the time was ripe.
Immediately, Mother Nature felt the vacuum and I felt the goosebumps rise. I felt the void. I'd lost my guardian moon. The pain I feel is because of my new reality knowing I'll continue my sojourn in life without you from now till eternity. Grandma, I'll always love you.
Thank you for everything you taught me
Thank you for the values you instilled in me
Thank you for unconditionally loving me
Thank you for being you
Forever and always
Your Loving Granddaughter

It’s still unbelievable, I remembered vividly that fateful morning when I came back from work and my hubby told me that you had gone to be with the Lord.  I was short of words, goosebumps all over me, although you were sick, but didn't know you would go so soon. You never wanted to die, and we didn’t want you to go but God knows the best. It is painful to me because I just knew you for 8-years but always wished I came into your family when you were younger to enjoy you as my mother-in-law. Mama, the brilliant, full of wisdom and willing to give whatever you had. Although I didn’t enjoy you as I longed to but the little time I spent with you; I learnt to pursue peace and value the family where I’m married into. I wish you were here to see another granddaughter of yours and so many other God’s blessings. Yes, we love you but God loves you more. Mama continue to rest on the Lord’s bosoms till we meet again.

My mom, Ezinne Grace Ude Agu, was a complex person who quietly and genuinely loved her family with all of her heart. I learned so much from her, eventhough she can't be with us anymore, I will always include her in everything I do forever. I love you mom, you'll always be in my mind. Your memory will forever give me strength and although you are gone forever I want you to know that I love you still and miss you. Mom, even in death you blessed so much because we came to know what a lovely and wonderful woman you were by the friends who condoled with us. Your grandkids, including the ones that came after you had gone to be with your maker, miss you. All of us miss you but God needed you at the time He did. Ezinne, Mom, grandmother, great grandmother, rest on till we meet to part no more.

Her Life

Biography of Ezinne Grace Ude Agu (Nee Uke)
Grace Ude Agu (Nee Uke) was born in Ndi Ota Compound of Amaokayi, Amaokwe Item, Bende Local government area, Abia state on August 18, 1925 to Late Mr and Mrs Obaji Nkwayi Uke.
Young Ude did not have the benefit of a formal education because of the prevalence of negligience towards the education of the girl child. Nonetheless, she seized the opportunity the Methodist institute provided for people to read and learn the Bible and she showed brilliance. Thereafter, she proceeded to the Methodist women vocational training Institute where she acquired sewing and catering skills.
Early in life, she demonstrated uncommon focus and tenacity in her newfound faith – Christianity, she used her singing talent in serving the Lord by joining the choir at Methodist Church, Amaokwe Item.
It was her dedication to the service of the Lord that attracted her to a young preacher and teacher, late Elder Gabriel Onuoha Agu and they were wedded in Methodist Church, Amaokwe Item.
She was a devoted wife and confidant; her sense of loyalty was unwavering and her support to her husband was constant and steadfast. She brought her deep beliefs in Christianity to bear in the upbringing of her children.
As the custom was for teachers and preachers in those days, and because of her husband's reputation for discipline and molding the characters of children, he was transferred to several communities within Bende division and Methodist missions establishments including Ugboawka, Ozuitem, Afikpo road, Amaba, Umuasua, Amaokwe Item and Okoko Item.
As a virtuous woman, she accompanied her husband on all these transfers and would quickly adjust to the new environment to kickstart her catering, sewing and agricultural endeavors to augment her husband’s Income.
She was a staunch member of Women’s fellowship of Methodist Church Nigeria and because of her selfless service to the Faith and Humanity as a whole, she was awarded Eldership in Methodist Church, and further recognised with the prestigious Ezinne status.
Way back in 1999, her children Mgbechi and Obasi invited her over to the US, and she has since lived there. Consistent with her beliefs,  Churches in the United States where she lived with her children bore eloquent testimonies as to her commitment. In the last two decades, she had lived in America where she eventually passed unto Glory peacefully on Saturday May 23, 2020.
She was no doubt blessed with children who on account of the kind of training they received, today are holding out so enviably in their chosen professions and are equally very useful members of the society. She was also blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mama, though we are aggrieved by your sudden exit at this time where we need your prayers and counsel the most, we submit to the total will of God. Ga nke oma, Adieu Mama.

GRANDMA THOUGHT ME HOW TO COOK OKAZI SOUP

March 8, 2021
Grandma came back from the US and she stayed with us for a while. She wanted to eat that particular soup but I didn't know how to make it and she was so surprised. Immediately she asked me to get a pen and paper. She listed all the ingredients and gave me money to the market.
I got back and straight to the kitchen, Grandma sat on the stool and gave me specific instructions.
Long story short, if you taste my okazi soup, you will definitely lick the plate after biting your fingers.
Forever and always. i love you grandma.
