In Loving Memory

On November 21, 2015, Fannie Louise Evans passed on to rest in the Lord.

She was born on July 6, 1955 in Salem, NJ to Estelle Barker and Jesse James. She was raised in Wilmington, DE by her uncle George Barker and her aunt Alice Barker. She attended Wilmington Public Schools and in subsequent years worked for the Delaware Tax Revenue. She moved to Harrisburg, PA in 2000, working for the Pennsylvania State Department of Revenue. She retired after 15 years of service.

She was kind and hardworking, enjoyed horror movies, game shows and working on fill-in puzzles.

Fannie maintained close and loving contact with her eldest son, Alexander Evans; her daughter, Lenita Reid; her youngest son, Lenny Reid; her mother-in-law in spirit, Mildred Reid; and her niece, Ellen Evans.

Fannie attended services until she no longer could at the Unitarian Church of Harrisburg, where she was loved and cared for by her many friends, her brothers and sisters in Christ.

She was predeceased by her mother, Estelle Evans; her father, Jesse James; her uncle, George Barker; her aunt, Alice Barker; her sister, Irene (“Dutzie”) Barker; her sister, Suesanne (“Little Mom”) Evans; brother, Frank James; uncle, George (“7”, “Sonny”) Washington.

Fannie is survived by companion and common law husband of 38 years, Linwood S.  Reid; his mother, Mildred Reid; eldest son, Alexander Evans; daughter, Lenita Reid; youngest son, Lenny Reid and his companion, Tyra Banks and their son (Fannie’s grandson) Lenny Evans.

She is also survived by sister Melva (“Tiny”) Jackson; niece, Ellen (“Punkin”) Evans; nephew, Garrison (“Stink”) Evans; nephew, Sabu (“Bu”) Evans; nephew, William (“Mookie”) Barker; niece, Monique (“Suga Mom”) Barker; Latasha (“Molly”) Barker; cousin, Ronald West; cousin, Dean Washington, and cousin, Linda Scott of Florida.

Fannie also leaves behind a host of great nieces and nephews and many loving friends from Harrisburg, PA and Wilmington, DE. Fannie is loved by all.

My love it does not seem like a year already. I think of you often and break out in laughter we had some good childhood memories. We did grow up with a village of friends and family, The Bradford Street family. I love you today and always my beloved.

hey cousin, we had lot of good times together, I remember everytime you would see me you would playfully push the side of my head, I now and always knew that was your way of telling me you loved me. you always encouraged me. thanks for the memories my special cousin!
