ONE YEAR HAS PASSED SINCE FARREN LEFT. LIFE HAS NOT BEEN THE SAME AND NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT SOMEONE IS NOT MISSING HIM INCLUDING ME. WHAT AN IMPACT AND DIFFERENCE HE LEFT ON OUR WORLD AND WE WILL NEVER FORGET HIM. I LOVE YOU FARREN, AND WILL NEVER STOP LOVING YOU.

In memory of my Uncle Farren,
I remember how your visits lit up my mom and dad's house. When we saw the Cadillac pull up in our driveway, we knew there would be laughter very soon. I remember how kind you were in caring for Grandma Bedell. I remember the magical place in Elizabethtown on Otis Mountain. I showed it to my son and my wife. I loved it there. I remember the music. Whether it was classical or "Roll Out the Barrel" it was fun. I remember the beautiful house in Michigan. I remember you and my dad putting a metal roof on the Camp in Elizabethtown. I remember the home movie of you laughing so hard at getting one over on your dad. Thanks Uncle Farren. I wish I could give you call, but instead I will have to do a little better at spreading joy the same way you did.

Farren Bedell, “Safely dead”. Those are the words Farren wrote for himself and made those closest to him promise to write for his official obituary. He did not object to saying more, so, to explain, he meant that death conveys immunity from further harm. He is free from any worry, pain or strife.

A native of Michigan, Farren died February 3rd, in Daytona Beach, FL, of natural causes. Predeceasing him are his mother, Eva Bedell (née Godley); father, Elias X. L. Bedell; brothers Jack Bedell and Robert Bedell, and lifelong friend and companion, Gerard Mundale. He is survived by his sister, Daisy Lueker, numerous nieces and nephews, his goddaughter, Jennifer Mundale and her family, and many close and dear friends, including especially Jonathan Walker.

Farren was a good and generous man who gave much of his time and care to others. He was a true and devoted friend who was always available to talk, offer support and encouragement, and to help with any kind of problem. He is sorely missed by a great many people who were touched by his kindness and wisdom.

He worked primarily in retail, where his integrity and natural ability with people made him successful in many different areas of business. In his retirement, he enjoyed the Michigan woods, bringing people together through music, his beloved dogs, and in later years, winters at his beach house in Florida.

It was his wish that no funeral service be held. By his prior arrangements, his ashes will be scattered near his home in Michigan, in the woods that he loved.
“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.”
