Fr. Guiney 2/12/1932 to 5/9/2014

"Be brief, be blunt and be gone". the motto he lived by.

  Rev. Father John Guiney; February 12, 1932 was born unto the union of Aible  & Mary Nee McCarthy who predeceased along with 5 siblings.  His sister Alice a retired nurse from London was by his bedside.  Ordained June 3, 1961 in the Diocese of Washington D.C.  His assignments included being the Associate Pastor at Sacred Heart Parish, St. Isidore and St. Walter.

1962 to1982 he went to West Africa and served faithfully at Our Lady of Fatima School, Harper and later St. Francis School, Pleebo (his favorite school); while at St. Francis he did mission/outreach work at the leper colony in Bonikeh, Maryland County, before being transferred to St. Philomina (Bishop Juwle ) high school, Zwedru, Grand Gedeh. 2002 he retired.   He had love for all especially the elderly, sick, those in nursing homes and sports.   He lived by his motto, he leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his Holy family SMA in Tenafly, NJ, four siblings and thousands if not millions of Alumni of Fatima, St. Francis & Bishop Juwle schools.
