And to Paula - what a beautiful memorial service, this wonderful memorial website, and truly an amazing daughter.

This is very late but no less heartfelt. Sitting here in a quiet house late at night, thinking about those we have lost. One very important person that is no longer here with us - is Ruth Major. But what is amazing is that when I thought of Ruth, and whenever I think of Ruth - I remember her with a smile.  Attending her memorial this past Spring brought to light all the lives she touched, and what she meant to so many, including me. She had a great sense of fun, a joy for life, and a love for her friends and family. I am very lucky to have spent time with her. The world is just not the same without her. She is missed.

To all those that attended Ruth's Memorial and sent cards, thank you so much. It's nice to know she was so loved.

Happy Birthday Ruth! You will be forever missed. The commitment to service she embodied will live on forever at the Gardena-Carson Family YMCA. We will miss you this Saturday at the Pancake Breakfast. However, we all know you will be watching us from heaven. God Bless.

I miss you Aunty love you lots

I will always remember Ruth as kind, fun-loving and loyal. She and Phil were like loving grandparents to Veronica and were supportive, affectionate and generous. Ruth was a wonderful lady who is missed very much. My prayers continue to be with my dear friend, Paula and her family.

I went to Bingo last Saturday night, just force of habit after nearly two years of going up there with you. Remembered you teaching me all the bingo game variations, it was so complicated at first but you were a patient instructor even though It seemed like I would never figure out how to play all those games. Oh, and the night you won nearly $2,000, could not believe you won so much money-I hadn't even won once at that point. Everyone at Buckingham Bingo: Catalina, Mary, Cyd, Michelle, Lisa, Wendy, Kathy, Rosemary, Jeannette, sandy, Beverly, Deborah, Maddie, Sylvia, Pam and Pat, Maggie, the other Jackie, Julie, Bridget, Judy and all the Big Brother and Sisters staff were very sorry to hear you were gone, they will miss you and, of course, your Tootsie Pops. 
All my cats and litters of kittens loved visiting with you and you helped me so much by 'sweetening' them up for their successful adoptions. All the folks at the Redondo Beach Pet. Co Kool Katz Rescue: Betsy, Rick, Elonne, Christine, and Maggie (who was also from Winnepeg and remembered you from church too) pass on their condolences to your daughter Paula. They all loved your visits there and your Tootsie Pops too. Of course the cat that will miss you the most is Mami aka Azule, the pretty Siamese mix who spent so many nights at your home and, much to your delight, would even sneak into your bed. 
I'll miss you Ruthie and as you can see from the above, a lot of other folks will too, as well as one slightly cross-eyed cat.

We miss you Ruth! We love you!

Ruth truly blessed Liz and I as a young newlywed couple some 25 years ago with her love, kindness and wonderful energy at the Y. I know she did the same for so many who could never thank her through her tremendous hours of volunteering. We have the fondest of memories and are so grateful our paths crossed. Our sincerest condolences to all her family and friends. God Bless!

My dear sweet Friend Ruthie-I will always hold you close in my heart. I absolutely loved working alongside you here at the Y. You were chipper and fun and such a go getter. You changed so many lives in this community and we are all so much better because of you. The Gardena-Carson YMCA will always have a special place for you and you will be part of this Y forever. We love you always and forever. xoxoxo! Bingo!!!
