His Life

Brief History

June 1, 2015

Felix (JERRY) Mabongue Ebongue hails from Bomono, Douala in the Littoral Region of Cameroon. He was born to Mr and Mrs.  Ebongue in 1957. In Felix’s’ brief but engaging and industrious life on this earth, he was blessed with a rich community and fulfilling professional career.

He attended primary school in Buea and secondary school in Bali. Whilst in CPC Bali he formed a music group, was the school team goal-keeper and a social activist, a theme which persisted throughout his life. He graduated from CPC Bali in 1979. He taught in a secondary school for a while, where, as the sports master, he coached a number of future Cameroon National Team (Indomitable Lions) players.

He gained admission into the University of London, graduating with degrees in law. After law school, he practised law with a number of social and mainstream institutions, affording tremendous assistance to a countless number of people.

Mr Mabongue, popularly known to his peers as Jerry and to friends as Uncle Felix was an intriguing person:  following his musical compositions in Cameroon, Felix further developed his music interests in London, achieving great success in collaboration with the world renowned British group Primal Scream. He also coached a local Cameroonian Sunday football team in Hackney. Felix enjoyed great seafood cuisine and initiated the introduction of the now well-known roast fish dish.

His main tenet was “There is no position so strong that cannot be challenged.”

Befittingly, a bosom friend of his exclaimed upon hearing of his sudden demise that he was “too courageous,” perhaps even audacious.

He leaves behind a loving wife, Anne, a loving daughter, Nnammy, a son, Dou and a granddaughter, Gabriella.

Let the memory of our loved one Felix (JERRY) be with us forever. We will remember him forever.
