1. Tribute to my beloved and only best friend
Hmmmm! As what do I make my tribute about you Lonpe, my darling – As a bosom friend, as a confidant, as a sister, as my best friend, as my classmate or as my partner. In whatever capacity I am making this tribute, I have got a lot to say about you.
You were a woman of good spirit, you were gentle, tender hearted, easy going, accommodating, very very disciplined, loving, upright and always there to help and assist whenever needed.
I will always remember you Lonpe, for there will never ever be a friend to replace you in my heart.
Our friendship started in 1958. Since then we were like 5 and 6. Always seen together. We went to the same Hannah Hinderer Secondary Modern school, Oke Ado, Ibadan between 1959-1961. We lived together with my brother. We entered United Missionary Teachers Training College Oke Ado Ibadan together from 1962-1964. People knew us together as best friends and partners. We derived our pet name ”Pat” from Partner. Our friendship grew so strong we became sisters. Your parents and people became mine and mine became yours. We became inseparable sisters.
Your commitment and devotion to the things of God was exemplary. On the 4th of November 2020 when I read on the WhatsApp group platform you created for us children and citizens of heaven that you were gone, I was totally shattered. It was like a dream. I am always too emotional to know you were gone home too soon. It hurts so bad and very very painful.
Well, you have fought the good fight of faith, you have finished well and finished strong.
I know there is another fellowship in heaven for those who died in Christ as you did.
Sleep on, my darling Pat, until we meet at the feet of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
I will forever miss you my sweetie. I know you have met your beloved husband in the holy city.
Good night.
Mrs Omolade
