BIOGRAPHY

There was a burst of joy and laughter on the 13th day of February 1937 when Mrs Florence Olusola Aduke Adefioye was born in the usual quiet and serene household of Late Pa Isaiah Diora Owoyomi of Lokore Ita Osun, Ilode Ile Ife and Late Sooko Alice Adeyemi Owoyomi.

She attended St Paul Anglican School Ile Ife for her primary school education and Our Lady Girls School Ile-Ife for her secondary school education. She attended D.T.T.C in 1954 for her Grade 3 Teachers’ Certificate. She later went back to school to obtain her Grade 2, NCE and ACE in education. Her passion for education never wavered, several years later, she obtained her Associate Degree in Education at Iniversity of Ibadan.

In 1957, as a trained and passionate teacher, she started her teaching career at St Stephens Primary School, Akinlalu in Ife North Local Government Area and taught at various primary schools in Ile Ife until 1960 when she met her husband-Late Pa L.O Adefioye. They were blessed with 7 children.

In consonant with her strong Christian and religious upbringing, Mrs Adefioye embraced Christianity early in life and was deeply involved in diverse church activities.

As a true Christian, she was fervent in her service of the Lord Jesus Christ, taking prayers and constant fasting as a pivot of her Christian race in life, backed by obedience to the word of God.

She was blessed with an amiable disposition, generous and caring. She was a strict disciplinarian.

Though born into an Anglican family, she later converted to Mountain of Fire &  Miracles ( MFM) while staying in Lagos with one of her sons. She held on to this faith both in Lagos and Ibadan.

A respected and adored mother, a believer and God fearing woman until her sudden going home to eternity on March 28 2016.

To the glory of God, Mrs Adefioye was blessed with wonderful children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They have been brought up and nurtured in the way of our Lord Jesus Christ, a growing nation of God's children.

They are never to look back as their hands have been laid at the plough with a sincere expression of love, unity of purpose and care for their fellowmen in their hearts and on their lips always.

May her gentle and humble soul rest in peace. Amen.
