It's been a year. My how time goes by. Miss the times we spent together, the trips we had and all the good that you gave us. Doctors said you wouldn't live past twenty one but you proved them wrong. You was our mini doctor. You always knew how to take care of yourself but now you have our heavenly Father to take care of you. I love you and always will. You completed us and made me the man I am today. I just hoped that you would be on my side to see our daughter graduate college but you will always be there. Watching over us. Continue your sleep. Love you always.

2nd corinthians 5 reads” For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” I believe that your work was completed and God called you home. Although I miss you, I'm ecstatic that I will see you again when I get to the city of Gold. I have many fond memories of you growing up, too many to write. However, my fondest memory of you would be, wearing all clothing and recording your daytime soaps for $3.00. Although, I still think you owe me $1.50 lol. You taught me a lot and helped me fine-tune my fighting skills, education, and how to dress amongst other valuable skills . Thank you! Nya asks about Zaire all the time because you told her to watch out for each other. She can’t wait to see her! I am as well. Thank you for visiting my girls, and showing them so much love. Nya still remembers when you took her to the pond to see the fish and Addy just wants candy lol. You still visit us in the form of a yellow butterfly always flying around my back yard. Beautiful and indeed peaceful. There is so much more I can say, but it will never do you justice. Tell mom hello for me, and let her know I’m in ministry spreading the infallible word of God as she did! Tell daddy hello. Oh, Roger said that you are still beautiful! See ya soon! Love ya always.

I will always cherish and appreciate the short time that I had known and spent in “Flo’s” presence. By just being her presence, you could tell that she was an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. She was bound for greatness, and nothing would stop her, not even health conditions.

She was a classy dresser, soft spoken, and a positive motivator and role model.

May her entire family find comfort in who she was. Gone but never forgotten.

Gone too soon! Florence was a sweet soul. I met her under sad circumstances. My brother Danny as she affectionately called, shared dialysis schedule together. They became great friends. One day he went into cardiac arrest while doing treatment......I received an emergency call, she was only the end, as he had given her my contact for such an event. Thankfully, he made it! We became friends and spoke often. After his passing, our friendship continued, even when she went to Orlando.
She spoke about her husband and daughter endlessly. Her sisters, to were her rock! I was saddened to learn of her passing, she had a good flight! Her faith was unwavering.
I'll continue to uplift her family in prayer m special blessings be bestowed upon her husband and daughter. May God's grace and peace comfort them.
Rest In Peace Sharon.

Florene as I affectionately called her was my childhood neighbor and friend. We spent soooo many good days together. Climbing the almond tree was a favorite. Watching the stories was her favorite. We walked to school together and shared lots of intimate experiences. Flo was a no nonsense person always always well dressed matching from head to toe. An ambitious Bahamian woman who wanted the best out of life. I will cherish the memories we shared together. Gone too soon.

Florine and I grew up together. She was indeed a vivacious and fun loving person from her early days. Laughter was her M.O. she would always have a joke to tell. Even though she had health challenges, she rose above it, always displaying a great and positive attitude.

She was the best dressed person i know. Always immaculate and trendy.

I saw her recently in hospital and we had a long talk
I encouraged uo continue to trust in God because He Is a healer. I continued to pray for the manifestation of her healing.

On the day she left us, i had gotten up that morning and had just said a prayer for her healing. I had had a dream about her the night before
In the dream it was as if she had given birth.
I know that she is resting in the presence of the Lord. May God strenghthen all of us that are left behind that we would get ourselves ready, so that we may see her again.

God Bless you all.

Her Life

The Life of Florine "Florence (Dollie)" Alinda Ferguson Greene

November 15, 2020
THE LIFE OF FLORENCE “DOLLIE” GREENE

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:  “Many women have one excellently,
but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates. Proverbs 31:26-31

A TIME TO BE BORN

On November 25th 1963, in Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas, Hilbert and Pearline Lynes Ferguson were blessed with their first born a Beautiful daughter they proudly named her Florine Alinda Ferguson nickname “FAF”. Florine who was the eldest of her siblings often took the role seriously instilling additional life skills and training into the younger ones making sure they were ready for their role in society as upstanding citizens and prepared them for one day to nurture their own families, Florine being a perfectionist often went without on numerous occasions countless to remember This would never be forgotten or taken for granted.

A TIME TO LEARN

Florence received her early education at Ridgeland Primary School and from there attended S. C. McPherson Junior High. She then attended R. M. Bailey Senior High which started her focus on becoming an accountant gaining numerous certificates and awards.  She continued her schooling with her mentor Miriam Curling, Attorney At Law, learning bookkeeping and accounting rules.  Mrs. Curling always told of how she was a perfectionist - it had to be done right.  She continued her schooling with Success Training College where she gained her Associates degree in Accounting.  Florence did not stop there though; she was always for higher education.  She went for her CFA with the Nastac Group where she trained almost day and night.  She was also able to get her certification to be a trained, licensed Insurance Broker.  That did not suit her so she became a self-taught web developer and mastered it to a. ”T”.  Florence had so many educational accomplishments as she was able to accomplish anything she put her mind to,

A TIME TO WORK

After completing her high school education, Florence began her adult working life with Sun Tee as a t-shirt folder and quickly moved up the ranks to work in the office as a bookkeeper.  From there she moved to the hotel industry at Paradise Island working in the Perfume Bar.  She then moved to working with Marty La Dad selling high end clothing on Bay Street.  She spent a number of years with Star Insurance in the accounting department where she met many life-long friends. After leaving Star Insurance she was able to establish an offshore company that she ran with the help of American counterparts.  Florence was a very industrious young lady and she always had a drive in her to always continue to work.  After leaving offshore she vowed that she would not work for anyone anymore in her life.  She then started her own website company and had the late Doctor Judson Eneas of RenalMed Associates as one of her clients and Captain Rufus Ferguson of Fergs Air Charter.  She always had a drive to help people to see the big picture and to portray it in the best creative fashion.  She was always advised by her husband that she was a great Marketing person and could persuade an Eskimo to buy ice.

A TIME TO LOVE

Florence met Robert all the way back in December of 1992 at Wang Computers, where she had a laptop that had crashed and desperately needing assistance.  Unfortunately, we (the company) were unable to repair it but Robert started a life-long friendship that day that he will always remember.  They spent a lot of time together and they seemed inseparable. They dated until May 23, 1998. Florence made it known she had found the Love of her Life, they were married at Evangelistic Temple by Pastor Vaughn Cash assisted by Deacon Gregory Taylor of Holy Family Church. This union was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Razariah Abigail Greene.

A TIME TO LIVE

The Woman Who Fears the Lord

An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.

The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.

She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.

She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.

She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens.

She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.

She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.

She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.

She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.

She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple.

Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land.

She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant.

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:

"Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all."

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.

Proverbs 31 v.10-31

This scripture verse personifies Florence’s life. She did it all for her family despite her medical concerns and was highly blessed by Our Heavenly Father.  This scripture comes to mind whenever she crossed my mind ” To Whom much is given, much will be required” Luke 12:48

A TIME TO DIE

For most of Florence’s adult life she has battled illness but she never allowed anyone to see her down.  At an early age she was diagnosed with lupus and doctor’s said she would not live to see twenty-eight.  She was destined and blessed to live and that is what she did.  She learned her disease and her body and was able to treat herself better than most of her doctors.  She came to a point where she was able to say what dosage she required and advised her doctors who actually agreed. Despite her numerous health challenges she manage to keep smiling and remain focus on the course set out before her by her maker, Due to her lupus illness Florence went into renal failure due to complications with a local physician, She had to have a pace maker put in. The doctors and nurses said she was a true survivor as she coded twice after this operation.  After this chapter in her life, she then was diagnosed with breast cancer and went to Orlando for treatment; survived and returned home after her first surgery. In 2019 just before Hurricane Dorian, she returned to Orlando, Florida as she noticed a lump had returned.  She was able to have surgery to have the breast removed and began treatments of chemotherapy and radiation. Everything seemed to have gone fine but her body was tired. This did not alter her faith in the Lord however this became her kryptonite, however her Lord and Savior who gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers allowed her to be admitted into hospital early July, 2020 and had to be re-admitted mid-July which would be her last admission.  Due to complications from the breast cancer and her treatments she passed peacefully on July 18, 2020 at 10:18 am in the arms of her maker.

Our times were always shared on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays at 5am once all was said and done. I think that was the ONLY part of 5 am I looked forward to because our conversations were always about our kids, growth, hair and shopping.
You opened up my eyes to so many things and I am forever grateful. I am a better manager because you were a good accountant. You knew how to direct and you never failed to follow up. You were encouraging and boy, you had a mouth on that little body. Fire, I used to call you.
But we also had a different relationship outside of Nurse and patient. We had a friendship and could call on each other outside of that realm.
Thank you for being the person you were. I will always remember you and our talks will forever remain in my heart.
Rest on fiery angel and yes, I will remember you always had that camera ready to capture something, LOL.
