FLOYDS LIFE

Floyd James Mizzles  was born June 7th 1947 to Floyd Mizzles and Virginia Leatice Shipp,in Jasper Tx..His father was in tthe army, and his mother worked ,while they lived with his grandparents. Time being what they were it ended up that he went to live with one of his aunts,horme who wanted to adopt him. Virginia didnt want this and with the help of another sister in law colleced clothes luggage and money, and spirited, Floyd, away from Norma's house and cought a train to Florda. He had several babysitters, and spent anywhere from a year to three years in an orphanage while she worked to support him. .Eventually she got a better job working for royal typewriter , finding the add in an old newspaper. they moved aroud alot. . living in ;KeyWest,Fl, NEW  Britten Ct.,Hookset .N.H.  Floyd was an avid reader, and when in middle, and high scool worked in the library reveiwing books After the servic  and made recmendations to librarian on what to order, He dropped out of school in the 8th or 9th grade. Floyd join the service the navy twice and marines, and served his country during the vietnam war and had three hitches.After the service he got his GED, ,. Floyd recieved his degree, after attending the university of Tulsa in Ok., and the university of Miami.He worked for the Miami Harald and Delta airlines, a blook plant Tapinos, until his grandmother Shipp, asked him to quit that job.. We met at the Howard Johnsons, in White River Jct . I had just gotten out of my weight lifting instructions.I was training for the womans middle weight contest.THE NIGHT WE MET WE DANCED ALL EVENING, AND TALKED UNTIL ABOUT THREE AM. TIME FLEW . WE DIDNT WANT IT TO END. .We went on trips to the white mountains , hiked, went to mystry hill ,and I was his girl friday as we i  investigated the area. .We were inseperable. When we started dating, Floyd deided that I shouldnt do that . I think he thought someone else would snatch me up., we were married ten months later, our 1rst son David Allen Marcs was born three years later on Oct 5th 1981, ,and Samuel Aaron Marcs was born May 14th 1985. I worked as a nurse, and Floyd ,who was dis abled stayied home and raised our two wonderful sons. Floyd wrote many editorials, was always availuable to answer quewstion, he enjoyied teaching people wrote term papers, helped his nieces and nephews with school work, and often over the phone, he helped me type my papers, and developed a program which made printing my nursing work sheets,he learned to garden, an can, something which Ihad been doing. . He made chuttany, dilly bean crab apple sauce, and asorted other canned fruits ang vegetables. Floyd  loved to drive his car, and something died in him when he went blind and lost many of his freedoms.He worked very hard to learn brail,and took courses from the  blind rehab,he was re accepted into college at UT tYLER, but never ended up going.he was proudof his sons and saw them marry ,and met his grandchildren.. soon after this he went into the VA hosp ond after a eight month stay, and numerous set back he surcombed to his illness .,, Floyd is burried at the ;Dallas Fort Worth NATIONAL cemetary; in section 108. this is a short history of his life .

Obituary   A funeral Mass for Floyd James Mizzles Jr., 63, Tyler, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Father Mc-Laughlin officiating. Burial will be in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co. Mr. Mizzles died July 2, 2010. He was born June 7, 1947, in Jasper. He was a graduate of the University of Miami, and attended the University of Tulsa, Colby-Sawyer College and the University of New Hampshire. He was accepted to The University of Texas for study. He earned a BGS degree in English, journalism and speech. He was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and served in the Marines and Navy. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia L. Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Maureen Mizzles of Tyler; father and stepmother, Floyd J. Sr. and Earlene Mizzles of Tyler; sons, David A. Marcs of Palestine, and Samuel A. Marcs of Tyler; brothers, Floyd R. Mizzles Jr. of Olympia, Wash., Karl Mizzles and Tommy Mizzles, both of Tyler; sisters, Wendy Waller of Tyler, Paula Pueblitz of Laredo, Irene Nivens and Darlene Pyle, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and grandchildren, Abbigail Marcs, Aiden Marcs and Braiden Marcs.
Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Repast will follow the Mass.
