Floyd Murray, Sr., 98, a longtime resident of Person County passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Roxboro Nursing Home.

A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late Lorenzo Murray and Susie Jane King. He was a member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church and was a farmer most of his life.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Randy Stone.

Surviving are two daughters; Ruth M. Beal and Agnes M. Stone both of Roxboro, a son, Floyd Bradsher “Buck” Murray of Roxboro, twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta Englebright Murray.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 9:30 – 10:30 prior to the Graveside service at Eakes Funeral Home and at other times the home of his daughter, Ruth Murray Beal.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in care of Gilbert Wilson, P.O. Box 668, Oxford, N.C. 27565.

Mr. Murray was blessed with a long life. We are praying for you. . When you believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you take one breath on this side, and the next is in heaven with Jesus. If you have not had this relationship with Jesus, it is Don and my desire that you get to know Jesus personally. God bless you.
