Dear Ma, i only knew you from a very far distance, but from that distance, i was able to learn the following about you;

1. You were a God-lover and served Him crazily

2. You were deliberate about Family. Love and oneness are evident in your home because that's your person.

3. Your kids adored you because you were such a great example to them.

4. The way your husband used to flaunt you upandan , it's because you just were one to be flaunted.

Thank you for the life you lived ma. We are confident you are resting. ❤

Dear Sade, oremi. I thank God for the lovely memories we have way back in BAHM Church. From the children's Church, Ladies Fellowship and other activities.

I still sent you a message on your birthday last year. Little did I know that would be our last correspondence. It's still very shocking.

I know you are in a better place now. Rest on dear sister.

May the Lord comfort your family and grant them the fortitude to bear this great loss. Amen.

Goodnight Oremi.

Folashade - My lovely beautiful inside and out Aburo. You were very caring and respectful to me even at the very first time we met each other. Your hospitality strength was amazing. It was very hearth breaking when l heard about the news of your transition to be with your creator. You fought the good fight of faith and now resting in the bosom of your creator. The good Lord that we serve will take care of your children and what you cannot do for your children he will do for them by his grace.  You are dearly missed.

Sis Shade was a good-hearted woman. I fondly remember her for her unwavering committment to the children, including mine, in church. She was full of candor and energy. Always willing to have the tough conversations.

Sis Shade, you will be greatly missed but I know you are in the bossom of the Lord. Till we meet again.

We never met physically but I met you through my brother, your husband and it is obvious you were a sweet fellow that he loved. Grateful to God for the life you lived. Death didn't win the battle. You won. God won. Because you are with God right now. We trust God to comfort everyone you left behind. Live on.

It’s still difficult to accept that a loving, warm-hearted, God lover, faith filled and enthusiastic lady has experienced a change of environment from this earthly to heavenly realm at such a time. Sure, we want you physically here with us but God’s will is superior. My wife and self had not been able to get over the thoughts of you. I can now imagine what my brother, your husband, must have been going through. It’s well always! May the lord keep and prosper all you have left here.

Oloori, you did not die, you only transitioned to glory, right before our very eyes. You saw His glory, you saw the Lord that dwell in unapproachable light, you loved singing, you told us to join you in praising God as you sang your way to Glory that faithful morning.
Sade Akinyoyenu, a genuinely good woman with a see through heart of Gold. Your life was an open book your loved your husband, your loved children, your loved your mutual and individual friends, you loved your family and Seyi's family. I will miss you, I will miss seeing and gisting with you every saturday morning after Seyi and I's customary exercise.
You ran the race, you finished your cause, a crown of righteousness awaits you.

Olori...
A life well lived is a precious gift,
of hope, strength and grace from someone who has made our world a brighter and better place

It's filled with moments, sweet and sad with smiles and sometimes tears,
With friendship formed and good times shared and laughter through the years..

A life well lived is a legacy,
of joy, pride and pleasure
A living and lasting memories
Our greatful heart will treasure.

Sleep on, beautiful life coach
Sleep on, a great hero of faith.

Got a whatsapp message on the first Monday of this year while at work. "Olori died on Sunday", said the message.

Haaaa!!!!
How?
it is not possible
Many thoughts passed through my mind
I was thrown off balance
Haba!
Why?

Sis Shade, I smile as I remember how your home was always filled with visitors. Your home exuded love, peace and laughter

As I type this, I remember your words, your laughter, your dedication to your family, friends and church

Olori, (as Bishop always called you), you loved
You truly loved and you were loved in return

A personification of the Proverbs 31 woman, that was you

We don't have all the answers, but we are comforted that you are resting in your beloved Saviour's arms

Rest on Sis
The ones you left behind are kept under the shadow of The Most High

Olori Sade, still a shock!!

Ever smiling, ever thoughtful.
We are comforted with these words, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”.

Good night beloved.

I doubt if words could explain my feelings towards you, but all I can say is I miss you but I would rather have you in heaven with God singing praises than in a world of suffering. Rest in peace mum

Whereas the earth affords the possibilities and opportunities for success and the realities of challenges, heaven on the other hand, is a place of celebration of victories and abundant adulation of grace, faith, righteousness and peace.

Your departure was painful and hurting but we find succour in the reality that there is gain in heaven even as the earth relies on the Holy Spirit to assuage the its loss.....

Rest on peaceful soul until we meet to part no more.....

Olori, as we fondly called you could not be questioned because you are royalty indeed. The ambience around you was always calm, warm and welcoming. You were a leader respected because you loved and served genuinely, sincerely and totally. May we continue to be inspired by the way you lived but more importantly the way you transited to be with our Lord - as a child of God and in glory.

My only contact with her was at a function in Ogun state in 2019. The joy and happiness with with she related with people obviously shows that she was a loving person. I follow the husband Mr. Sheyi closely on social media and you could tell that he must have been married to a woman that gives him peace.

I thought and thought for days when I heard of her demise, but I accept the comfort of the Holy spirit that she is resting in the blossom of the Lord.

May the Lord be with the beautiful family she has left behind.

Keep resting in the blossom of the Lord Aunty Folashade.

Oh death,where is your sting?

Your death still feels so unreal.
I remember the very first day I met you and Mr seyi in ipaja, you both had a cup of coffee ,you finished yours first and wanted his coffee.
He had to give you.
Everything about you both oozed love, friendship, partnership and God.
You were truly a queen.
You were present in all,as a mother, wife, friend and counsellor to your hubby and children.
Words truly fail me but with mr semi's testimony of you,I know you are resting.

Your news of departure was a shock to me as I believe you were already recovering. The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are. You were lovely, caring, generous, a woman with a golden heart not considering her own comfort alone. Our comfort is that you saw the Light as Dr Campbell said and I quote, I am not looking for death, I am looking for Him. That's the way every Christian should live his life in constant anticipation of His return. Sleep on beloved sister, your memories are unforgettable. Life should be measured with deeds not years!

I called Bishop on the 1st of January to say happy new year, he could not pick immediately, when he picked after my several attempts, he said, 'I am in the middle of something, I will call you back.'

It was actually the middle of fighting for the precious life of Olori... My heart wanted to just hear him, I couldn't think it was because of her wife who was soon going to leave us in about two days from that day.

I quickly didn't know about the demise till a friend called my attention to it and reaching forth to Bishop, I know God is with him.

Olori Akinyoyenu, we miss you. I never met you but from what I interfaced with in the person of Bishop, you are truly that kind of woman that makes greatness natural.

The truth be told, nothing can take you away from us, you have only gone ahead, we meet at the bosom of God and there we shall be joyful forevermore.

Hmmm, Ma Folashade Akinyoyenu, if I had known you, I sure would have loved you, your husband always had you on his lips during our lectures, you were a woman to reckon with, your pictures make me feel closer to you... Your light shines even in this dark world, we sure do love you....
Live on ma , till we meet to part no more.
To the mentor I never saw.

Dear Olori Shade,

The vacuum you left behind can never be filled
You left an indelible mark upon us all

Thank you for the warm hospitality
Thank you for the support
Thank you for the smiles
Thank you for giving unreservedly
Thank you for being resilient till the end

Your exit though painful, has a peaceful reassurance that you have gone to the Father

You saw the Light
You lived the Light
You have gone to dwell in the Light

We pray grace, strength and peace upon Seyi and the children as they navigate this painful experience without you

It is well
It is well
It is well

Continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord

Rest well Olori

Tribute to Olori Folashade Akinyoyenu

Partings come and hearts are broken. Loved ones go with words unspoken.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of a dear sister, friend and wife of my close friend.
I have known Olori for over 10yrs and every encounter with her is always memorable. She lightens up the atmosphere the moment she steps into the room. She smiles and jokes with everyone even if she was meeting you for the first time. She loves everyone like they are family.

Folashade’s death came as a surprise to me and I was broken all through the day when I got the news.

I know how hard it is to loose a loved one. I pray that God Almighty will uphold and strengthen Seyi and the children she left behind. We love you but God loves you more Olori Folashade.

Mr. Oluseyi Akinyoyenu, I shed tears as I played the music on her tribute site: Amazing Grace.

Even though you left so soon, so sudden, so unnoticed. But the testimony of your salvation comforts us of your eternal happiness at the feet of the Saviour.

At the last trump, you will rise first, then we, if we are still living, will rise with you and so shall we ever be with the Lord forever.

God be with you, till we meet again.

Goodnight, for we shall see in the morrow.

Aunty Shade,
When I saw this, I was really mad at myself because I know I never kept in touch like I should have but I had promptings to reach out but I didn’t and it hurt me real bad.
Words will fail me to say everything you are to me and did for me but you pushed me, encouraged me and you had my back always. Your kind, sweet words, smile and just who you are was God sent to me.
This is the hope we have in Christ Jesus that you are asleep and we all shall see in glory in the bosom of our FATHER.

Our meeting for the first time was at the Labalaba foundation program. We sat beside each other and we started gisting as though we had known each other for years. We talked about all our hopes and dreams and fears. She was full of so much energy, always caring for others: the last person I could think death would come for so soon. We will miss you Folashade. Watching your videos just before you left shows the tremendous energy in you. I witnessed also that same on my visit to your residence. I still remember the Oreos biscuits you served, the tour of your catfish pond which you put in so much effort just to make it work. Well, you need not work anymore, rest on. You have run your race and fought a good fight. Death is a new beginning, like Christ we die to live forever in Him.

Dear Olori Folashade Iretioluwa Akinyoyenu,

I unfortunately never got to meet you but Uncle Seyi always spoke/wrote about you (he still does) with such genuine love and pride.

Reading the tributes here gives a glimpse of the rare gem you were and still are to your husband, children, friends, family and strangers who had the pleasure of hearing/reading about you through Uncle Seyi.

Thank you for being a light in the world during your stay.

Folashade Akinyoyenu was a helpmate and companion that supported and assisted my friend and brother - Seyi to be a better than the best man, father, husband, business manager, trainer, motivator, etc than he ever thought he could be. She was also a Mum that was available to build her house; to whatever extent it seems best for the family. No words will be able to summarize who you were, how you impacted lives, and what milestones you have attained in this short sojourn you had on earth. Rest on in the bosom of the LORD till we all meet to part no more. Adieu, Folashade.
