Frances Coonradt Nelson passed away peacefully on October 29, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Teall Coonradt and Kay Parrish; her step father William Parrish; and her nephew Chance Byrd. She is survived by her children, Dani Spradlin, Claire Strand (Stephen) and William Nelson (Laura Lee); brother, Michael Parrish (Peggy); sisters, Rebecca Guthrie (Douglas) and Deborah Byrd; grandchildren, Kerry Nelson, Nicky Spradlin, William Strand, Katrina Strand, Michelle Strand and Hannah Nelson; great grandchild, Emilia Pineiro; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 


Frances was born on Edgewood Arsenal in Maryland on December 29, 1942. She graduated from Oneonta High School and attended the University of Alabama. She was a long time resident of Lincoln, Alabama where she loved nothing more than visiting family, baking and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide. She will long be remembered for her caring nature and her incredible baking skills. There was never a family event without some of “Gran’s” special treats and some encouraging or thankful words. She loved and fought with great passion and no one ever messed with her babies and grand babies. She will be missed by all that knew her. 


In accordance with her wishes, there will be a private Celebration of Life. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
