Thank you to everyone who attended the memorial for Mom either in presence or spirit. Frances was touched by your love and honor from her place in Heaven.

Frances, I met you late in your life but feel like I have known you all my life. God brought us together for this journey, to walk with you as you walked toward Him. I know that you have seen Jesus and you had longed to do just that. Denise

Patti and Rhonda, I cannot believe it has only been six months since we had your mother out shakin' her booty at Max and Sams. I know she had a geat time and wanted to go back there dancing. We should definitely do that in her memory.

Aunt Fran, you were the zaniest person I ever knew. We did dumb things, silly things, and fun things when I spent endless teenage years hours at your houses. I formed my image of womanhood in part because of you. I miss the girl talk.

Well Mom, today is the luck of the Irish but it's always a sad day for me. I've thought about you the entire day today with so much regret and sadness. Regret that you didn't get to know all the Grandkids and have more time with us, sadness because you aren't here to enjoy life with us. So many things have changed since you've been gone, a lot of good and some not so good. You know what they are and I know how sad you must be. But life is life and people are people and I continuously shake my head! I miss you terribly and love you so much! Thank you for my 11:11pm tonight. xoxo

Happy Birthday Mama! Looks like you've got a special person with you and he's staying indefinite. I'm sure you both are partying it up, up there in heaven. But down here you are so deeply missed. I miss you more than you know. I wonder ALL THE TIME what life would be like if you were still here. I know it would've been much better with much more laughter. I'm sure you would be having the little kids over for sleepovers every weekend! I love you my beautiful Mother and please keep watching over me. I feel your presence all the time. Love, Sweet Pea

Mom & Her Mom

March 17, 2017

I remember Mom telling me about how much she loved her Mom. She grew up in harsh conditions in Brooklyn, NY doing without a lot and enduring a lot. But she told me that no matter what; the one thing that was always on her mind, was how to make things easier for her Mom. She recognized the sacrifices her Mom had made along the way. Mom told me to remember that you only have 1 Mom, and one day she will be gone; and you will think of all the things you didn't say, and all the things you wish you didn't say.....so Mom, today.....when I think back to that conversation we had.... you were so right.... I wish more than anything that I had more time with you.....to say those things...I love you.... Patti

If It's Paper....

June 18, 2013

One of my great joys at working at If It's Paper... was working with Fran.  Here we are at one of my Mardi Gras parties in Houston - Randy, Fran, Jeremy (hiding), Michael, Beverley Sutton, and me.

The baby fell and hit his head...

Only Mom and I know how hilarious the title of this story is. I can't explain it here because no one will "get it". But it was one funny moment for sure. We had so many laughs for years and years over this, and see, I still think of it. Just in case you are curious, we were reading a story in a true confessions magazine, lol, I know, most of you don't even know what that is! Before National Enquirer ! Anyway, there was a run on sentence and we just howled at how we thought what it meant. Funny, of all the things I could write about today, that is what comes to my mind. I guess Nona just wanted me to remember something funny, and not be sad today. I love her. Pappy
