Her Life
April 17, 2016

On November 24, 1956, an angel was born in Houston, Texas to the late Thelma Lee and Fred Lee, whom they lovingly named this beautiful songbird, Francis Elaine Lee. Was the sixth children born to this blessed union. Francis attended Kelso Elementary School, Hartman Middle School and then went on to graduate from Jesse H. Jones High School, where she met and married her high school love, the late Anthony Wayne Ward. This union was blessed with two beautiful daughters: Lakeshia Ward and Kineka Lee. Francis began singing at the tender age of 7 years old, singing at family functions and anywhere she could. Then she started singing and later joined the Outreach Baptist Church. She also sang with the Southeast Inspirational Choir. Francis could not just sing, but “SANG.” She was and will always be an amazing singer. Her voice was a force to be reckoned with. She loved her family and grandchildren very much. She is preceded in death by three brothers, Edward “Poochie” Lee, Eugene Lee and Raymond “Duke” Lee; and one sister, Lillian Elaine Mobley. Francis leaves a lifetime of precious and loving memories to her two daughters, Lakeshia and Kineka; five grandchildren, De’Ovieon, Kayarra, Kimorah, Darrius and Quincy; one brother, Fred Lee Jr.; one sister, Helen Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends.
