Condolences to Ira and the family.. I was saddened to hear of Dr Moraes and his passing. Loved having him for a doctor...it was always so easy to just drop in most times to see him. He was so proud of his family too, and was nice to see how the family was so much a part of what he did both at home and at work. He will be missed, as he was when he left Flin Flon.

I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Moraes, my sympathy to Ira and family. I recently lost my husband, Pete, who at one time was Dr. Moraes patient, as I was. He was the best doctor, always caring and kind. A good hearted man. Pete loved to tell the story about Dr. Moraes walking his dog and the chat they had one time. I used to take my grandkids to see Dr. Moraes as patients, he got to know each one of us. He never hurried you and you never had to wait long to see him.  He always had a kind word for everyone.

Hey Papa,
Thank you.
I never told you this, but I have always looked up to you. You taught me how to be strong. You showed me the value of a loving family. It is because of you that I want to get a job that helps people.
Thank you for being a grandparent. For telling me stories when I was little, for playing games with me as a kid, for caring about me.
Thank you for being a part of my life for so long. I just wish it could have been longer.
I promised that I would stick with my family. I promised to look after your necklace. I promise I will make you proud.
I will keep my promises, always and forever, until I see you again.
I miss you so much.
Your loving grandson,
Jai

I was filled with sadness that I received news of Frank's passing away on his journey to eternal life in heaven. However, I was relieved to hear that Frank was surrounded by his loving wife Ara and family at his bedside amidst this COVID chaos.

In 1958, far away from our family, we became good friends and were each other's confidant. We shared happy times together with outings to university sport events such as rugby, Gaelic football, tennis; Irish plays at the abbey theatre and fun times at Irish dancing parties. Frank was a leader at many of these social events.

At home events, we particularly enjoyed his cooking when he would make tasty Indian curries. Frank was the one person who would wake me up on Sunday mornings to go to mass. He was really disciplined and attributed this to his early education by Jesuit priests in Goa. He was very religious and had time to join the legion of Mary group at university.

Frank progressed quickly becoming a skilled surgeon, practicing both in Ireland for years and then in Canada. He devoted much of his time in healing patients, who were grateful for his extraordinary skills. After retiring, Frank and his wife happened to take up residence near to me. Now we had time to see each other more often and keep in daily contact. Frank had confided to me that he felt blessed that he had such a loving wife and that he was very proud of all his children's achievements.

My wife, Florence and I wish to extend our deepest condolences to Ira and family and to wish them courage and strength to deal with their loss at this time. I will truly miss my good friend, and we pray that Frank will rest in peace forever.

My dear Uncle Frank

You always were my favorite uncle by far, even though you lived the furthest away and we only saw you every few years. I'll always remember our nightly card games, especially Mendikot, and how competitive you used to get, much to Mai's amusement. I remember our daily trips to the Margao market, with you on the back of my bike. Aunty said I was the only one you trusted to take you around on the bike, which is something I'll always be proud of. Your bread and cookies were legendary and I remember you and Aunty even getting us some when you came to visit us in Sydney. Earl has always appreciated how comfortable you made him feel when he joined the family and I know he will miss your stories. You had a special way with kids and I'll never forget how quickly my Evan took to you when he was only 2 months old. It deeply saddens me that lil Carl will never get that chance.

Love always,
Chris

Dear Papa,
You have always been there for me. You taught me many things, including playing chess. You always played with me every time I asked. You put my happiness first, and I will always remember you for that. Your cookies were the best, but they were always gone within the first 2 days. I will never forget all that you have done for me.

Franklin loved his home in Cuncolim when ever he was in Goa he made it a point to visit Bencleavaddo although many of his old friends were no more. I was surprised that we had a common connection with St. Stanislaws’ high school Bandra. We were boarders though many years apart. My condolences to Ira and the children

Frank was a mentor in medical school and our “digs” with Miss Ring on Leinster Rd Dublin. Simple in demeanour but clear in discernment of right and wrong , a model doctor , accomplished surgeon , supportive friend devoted to his family . He enjoyed a good prank , good food , laughter and relished a game of poker. We lived in simpler times but his grounded sense of self worth , hard work and devotion to “ thy will be done “ are a legacy in this toxic culture .

Don't think of him as gone away, his journey's just begun, life holds so many facets, this earth is only one.Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years.Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched....For nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.

Joaquim and I send our deepest sympathy to you Ira, Sabrina, Theo, Trevor and family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Frank was a very kind and fun loving man. We have many loving memories of our good and fun times together with him and Ira.
Frank loved to play Bridge. We spent many hours on weekends and any other day playing Bridge. He loved to bake cookies, he had his own recipes for cookies. It was a nice surprise each time he brought out his cookies with a big smile on his face.
There are many other memories of our trips together to Thompson and the train trip to Churchill with Frank, Ira and family.
We will always cherish these memories in our hearts. We will miss his smiling face, his kindness and his friendship. Rest in Peace, Frank

While I could talk to the role model he provided for his family, I’ll remember Uncle Frank for his pioneering global moves (Ireland and then Canada), hard working ethos, humility, and appreciation and value of the simple things in life (e.g., gardening, watching soccer on TV—especially Manchester City when they were not as good as they are now). Unfortunately, I was never able to convince him to root for the other Manchester club . But, above all, it was his quiet strength, deeply caring demeanor, influence on and enduring love for his family and our good Lord that impressed upon me. This will live on in those who knew him well including his family and grandchildren. Uncle Frank was impactful in my life and in many others and will be missed

Heartfelt condolences to Ira and all the family! I am so fortunate to have been a neighbour to Frank and Ira. I will miss Frank’s big smiles. I always remember his patience and kindness when I was feeling so sick 7.5 years ago. We were both avid soccer and tennis fans. I really enjoyed our post-match analysis. He had a great knack for picking winners. I will really miss our banter. Rest In peace, Frank.

We send our condolences to the family of Dr. Frank Moraes. Although it has been many years since I have seen Frank, Ira and Theo, Trevor, and Sabrina, I have many fond memories of visiting the Moraes household as a child. Dr. Moraes always had many words of wisdom for me and as I grew into an adult, he still would give me advice on staying healthy and taking care of myself. He was a very kind and caring man. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Papa
I admire you so much! I have always had a fondness for older people and when I lost my Grandpa Jack many years ago (my favourite person) you definitely helped fill that void through your wisdom, kindness, and utmost devotion to your family. Your love and loyalty to us never wavered, and you always put others before your own needs. I was not joking when I said you are the most amazing 85 year old person I know! Although time seemed so short at the end and it is hard for me to believe you are gone, I will always see you as a pillar of strength and health. Thank you for always treating me as a daughter and for taking care of everyone for so long. It is your time to rest.

We send our condolences to Ira and the family. Frank will be fondly remembered by us. Unfortunately I only have a couple of pictures with Frank in them. The one that tells the story of his kindness in general is of Jasper. Our dog was at the garden doors to your house, and although Frank wasn't visible, we knew whose hand was delivering a treat to her. I believe she wandered over there just about every day for a visit.
He was a very kind person who always treated other people with respect and dignity. His presence will be greatly missed.

Dear Papa,
You lived a long life and I am so happy to share it with you. I loved the times when you’d sleep in the rocking chair when you watched tennis and I walked up to you and woke you up so I could check yours and nana’s temperature. And when you made papa cookies and papa bread. That was my favourite snack. I loved when you cracked the coconut in Goa. That was cool. I miss the times when I walk in the room and you are watching tennis and I creep up and scare you but then I remember that you are always with me.
Love Priya
