Frank Renner's Life Story
Frank Renner, son of Joseph and Theresa (Dober) Renner, was born August 24, 1844 in Ensbach, Baden Germany. Frank came to America with two sisters. His brother Ignatz joined them a year later. Frank, Katherine and Caroline first lived and worked in Omaha and were members of St Mary Magdalene Church in downtown Omaha. In 1871, at the age of 20, Katherine married Frank Baumert at this parish. That same year Caroline married Heny Sollinger, a soldier stationed in Fort Omaha.
In 1872, after saving enough money, Frank Renner and Frank & Katherine Baumert moved to West Point. They had the dream of someday owning their own land. Frank Renner married Salome Roehl of West Point on January 11, 1877 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Frank and Salome continued to live and work in the West Point area until they saved enough money to make a down payment on land. Frank and Salome's first child Helena was born on January 12, 1879. On April 1, 1879 they made their down payment on the farm 1 mile west of Aloys. The description of the land is the NorthWest quarter of Section 1 in Township 21, North Range 4 East in Cuming County, Nebraska.
Frank and Salome were the parents of 10 children. Frank died on December 23, 1892 of typhoid fever. Michael, 4 years old, also died of typhoid fever a day earlier. Frank and Michael are buried in the same grave in the Aloys cemetary.
