I am reflecting back about Frank and recalling he never had a mean thing to say about anyone and I don't once ever recall him being negative about anything he was always so positive. He was a hard worker, was good at tennis, a good husband and really loved all of you. Thoughts with Lola and all of you, my heart is sad but I also know he is with your mom and dad so he is at peace. Love and prayers to all of you.

My brother Frankie was a kind, child like soul. Jesus said to Saint Fuastina, "
Those who are like me in the pain and contempt that they suffer will be like me in Glory"

You suffered greatly over the last seventeen years, Frank, may you rest in glory.

Love,

Mac

Uncle Frankie was a lover of life. He loved his wife Lola so much. I remember him loving to play tennis, gin rummy, and he loved to swim. Once in Oceanside at dusk he took all of his nieces and nephews into the water for a "sunset swim". He made us all put on our wet suits & hit the water with him. He was a lover of music and the Dr. Demento show. Canciones de mi padre by Linda Rondstat will always remind me of him & auntie Lola. He was good for a big hug, a shoulder rub, and a laugh. Once I remember him teasing auntie Kathleen in a bday card that he was a selfish brother from the start by being born on her bday. Uncle Frankie, and pretty much all of the Bryant aunts & uncles always welcomed the whole lot of 6 nieces & nephews for sleep overs piled on the living room floor of who we were with. They never denied us the chance to be togehter and with us all at the same time. How blessed am I to have family like Frankie and the rest of Pat & Frank's brood.

How does one say farewell. The memories your family are experiencing I know bring joy and tears. The Bryant family bond was felt by all. It was good, it was messy, it was real and it was always strong. Jim and I feel blessed to have shared holidays, vacations, and the day to day events with Frank. Your brother's memories will touch many and your families' loss breaks my heart. Frank is in good hands; Frankie is running free.

Let your spirit fly, Frank unfettered by a body held back by frailties and age can now soar above this lowly plane. Happiness and joy will be your reward up there so far away from this place we call reality. The after life is waiting for us all someday. I will see you there my brother!

My brother Frank was a wonderful man who lived his life loving others, being of service and supportive of family and friends. I loved his nonjudgmental attitude towards people and instead he would express deeply felt compassion. Although he suffered too much for a long time he was quick to remind me to be grateful and to love Jesus. I loved my brother Frank so very much and his spirit will remain in my heart until I see him again and as Dad would say over and out for now.....

Mexico Trip

August 31, 2016

I met Frank in 1965 at a Knight's of Columbus dance when he stuck out his hand and said, in a loud and clear voice, "Hi, my name is Frank Bryant. What's yours?"

From that day forward we were like brothers, traveling together, drinking together, surfing together, debating the ills of the world and celebrating weddings, business successes and crying together at funerals. I miss him greatly.

One Friday afternoon, in the early seventies, Frank along with Frank Collins and Tony Chicas came by my house and suggested we take a trip to Mexico. Leaving right then. As it was, I had a Ford van that was the best Mexico vehicle in the group as we could travel in it, sleep in it and all fit in it.

I was very much in favor of the trip but regretfully related to the Troopers that I had no money so could not go this time. Frank B. (who always had money) offered me a $20 loan. I immediately said, well then, "Let's go." We went to Ensenada and had a great time at Hussong's Cantina and other top lev.el establishments. We sang songs, drank beer, ate tacos and slept in my van on the beach. What a great time we had! And all my expenses were covered, including gas, Mexican car insurance, beer and food for two nights and days were covered by the $20 bill Frank loaned me. Times were different then.

This was just one of many such trips to Mexico with Frank who was always the idea man, financier and spark plug in the Captain Cooper's Troopers band of brothers.  Wherever we went and whatever we did, we seemed to be taken care of by a flock of guardian angels as we did dumb things but always escaped relatively unscathed. No major injuries, jail sentences or broken noses.

Yes, I miss Frank, but his memory carries on in my heart.  Rest in Peace, Bear.
