The Measure of a Man

The life of a man is not measured by the breaths he takes
It can not be measured by the years he lived
The life of a man is measured by those he has touched
It is measured by the love he freely gives

The life of a man is not measured by the times he prayed
It can not be measured in minutes, hours, or days
The life of a man is measured by the strength of his character
It is measured by the honesty and integrity he displayed

The life of a man is not measured by accomplishments
It can not be measured by wealth or material gain
The life of a man is measured by the legacy he leaves behind
It is measured by humor, generosity, and the ability to be kind.
The life of a man is not really a measure at all
It can not be calculated in any tangible way
The life of a man is measured not in when he is called home by the Lord
Perhaps the measure of a man is only truly found in how fully he lived.
