It is hard to believe that it has been 6 years. I know that Zayda has now joined you, Mama, Frankie, Tia, Tio, & Cookie. I wish I could call you to ask your advice on so many things. You raised me to be strong and I am trying, but I still miss you so much. Please know that my love for you will never end. Your loving daughter, Darlene
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Frank Ferrer, 94, born on October 30, 1922 and passed away on July 28, 2017. We will remember him forever.
Frank came into this world as a fighter & fought his last battle on July 28th, 2017. He met his future bride, Dora, in junior high school. They were married 10 days after graduation. Frank had enlisted in the Coast Guard due to WWII, & was stationed in New Bedford, MA. Dora left Tampa on a bus, with her mother, his mother & her maid of honor. They were married in New York City, while Frank was on leave. After the war, they eventually moved back to Tampa, where they raised their son, Frank Jr and daughter Darlene. Frank worked in the automobile business as a salesman, manager and owner of the Porsche & Audi dealership & then Datsun (Nissan) & MG dealership in Tampa. Frank & Dora loved to travel. They travelled across the country several times in a motorhome, selling the motorhome after each trip, for a profit (of course). They also loved to cruise, taking many cruises to the Carribbean and Mediterranean, where they visited Spain, Italy, Monaco and Nice. Even though Frank suffered from some cancer issues, he continued his fight to live life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Dora, his daughter Darlene (Robert) Gravatt & niece, Zayda Leon. He was predeceased by his parents, Jose & Ana Maria Ferrer, his sister, Marita Leon and son Frank Jr.

Did not know that Frank Jr. dad had passed away but I want to pay tribute to him and the family. Frank Jr. was my beloved friend I remember him every day. I promised him I would never forget him and I have not. We had such fun together sailing around the clearwater area him on his boat and me on my boat the Night Watch. He could always make me smile and laugh. I pay tribute to Frank Sr. and his wife for raising such a wonderful person as Frank Jr. I still visit his grave all these years later. Thank You for being a loving family to him. I know Frank Jr. would want me to say these words to you.
