My Fondest memories of Frank are from the trip to China in 2005.
In the back of our tour bus, Frank would be giving his own China
tour lectures, laced with Frank-style jokes, the kind that make you
moan! Goodbye, dear Frank. Genie, my sympathy to you.

Genie, this message is for you: You have been an outstanding
caregiver to Frank! As a nurse, I have watched you and heard
about you practically turning yourself in knots, fulfilling Frank's
every request and need. You are now a nurse too. :-)

Sometimes a person comes into your life and attaches to your heart strings and doesn't let go. That was Frank to T and me. He was such a wonder of humanity and a father to so many boys. He very appropriately left us on Father's Day. We know that he still has our heart strings and is just getting things ready for us. His spirit is with us.

Big brother Frank will be dearly missed. He and his family treated me as family > 30+ yrs; never failed to include me. Life will be empty without his smiles, loving & supporting guidance. I will definitely miss his email that were filled with educational, beautiful and astounding photos of the world, corky adult jokes, and profound wisdom.  With love always, Nora

Deeply saddened to re-live "a Father figure" resting in the eternal Heavens........but feel a stability in the air knowing there will be no more pain, trials, tribulations associated with various ailments in a human body.
I was honored to eat with you at the most recent crab feed fundraiser, and words could never cover everything you gave to all of us!!!  R.I.P. Mr. Young "Frank".

Brian, Very sorry for your loss. Your dad was a good man and I have many memories of him growing up, at Cedarbrook, through high school etc. Losing a father is tough on anyone. Be thankful you had him as long as you did and remember all the things he was there for in your life. I know he is very proud off the man you have become. Thoughts and prayers with you and your entire family.

Kevin Flock

Sorry to hear about your Dad. I felt always welcome in your folks home. Peace to you and your family.

David N. H. McKenna

I am very sorry to hear this Brian. I admired and respected your father very much. He is one of the reasons I joined the military as a Reservist. He was an inspiration to many and am sad that he has passed on. Let me know if you need anything.

David

Brian, I'm very sorry to hear about your dad. I have many great memories from being in scouts and having your dad as my scoutmaster. If it wasn't for scouts and your father, I could have easily gone down a path of poor decisions. I am very grateful for your fathers teachings and guidance. Stay strong buddy.

Will Anderson

Brian, I am so sorry for your loss. I too have many fond memories of you, your brother, and your father at Camp Cedarbrook. That's where I learned how to sharpen knives, hurl axes, chop down trees, and make fire. It was kind of like "Lord of the Flies" with mild adult supervision. I'll never forget how your brother taught me how to dangle a spaghetti noodle down my throat, cough, then pull the other end through my nose.

That being said, it was the adult caretakers like your father who made the whole thing work and imparted lessons to boys on how to be men. I would not have been able to accomplish half the things in my life without the dedication of men like your father.

Tonight I raise a glass to Frank Young.

Here's to the old man.

Julie Corrine Bauer

Even though I was not a Boy Scout, I too have many fond memories of you, your father, and family. I wish you all well during this very hard time. His infectious smile and warm heart will be remembered always.

Hugs and love,

Brian, I am so sorry to hear this. Your father was a great Scoutmaster, and a great man. I have many fond memories of scouting, and almost all of them had your dad involved somehow. Rest in peace Mr Young.

Oh Frank...it's so odd knowing you've left us.  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your family for so many years.  You've enriched our lives with your kindness, wit & humor.  You had such a strong sense of family in you. And you were always clowning around!!

I will cherish our little teasing game we had.  You, saying "where's Jerry?" with that goofy look on your face, knowing all the while how I hated the nickname.  His name is Jeremiah.  I would then retort with "here Gina, here Gina!" (we had a DOG called Gina) Sorry Genie, had to hit him where it hurts! He adored you.  You had to be there.  Inside joke.  We would laugh and chuckle over something as simple as that.  That was our connection.

"The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living"...Cicero

Goodbye Frank, it has been a pleasure..you brought a wonderful family into this world. Genie...take on day at a time. My heart goes out to you.

I love you, Donna de Nu-White

In Memory of Our Friend, Frank Young June 17th 2013

Genie, your Frank may be at rest, but he left you with many wonderful memories. Frank loved you and supported your interest in life, his love of family and grand children, Community, and volunteerism.   I have an Eagle Scout because of his involvment and the ability to encourage good parent participation.  I caught the love of gardening from my friend Frank, how to start a Fig Tree from a cutting, and how to grow a juicy Orange in my back yard.  I wish I was a story teller, I surely would like to tell some stories of snoring in bunkers at Baker Beach or camping at North Tower but I guess I will have to leave that to Harold.

Frank, I will miss making memories with you, most of all your genuine friendship. Thank You from my heart!
Leta and Harold, The Gowers
