His Life

Frank's last game

May 22, 2020
Y'all know Frank LOVED baseball, no secret there. The DC area boy in him was a Senators fan. He told me, that when they left, he couldn't root for the Orioles, so he became a Phillies fan. He loved when the Nationals came to town. He worked for them at RFK, getting me a job and eventually the kids I was a nanny for too. The year the Nationals moved to their new ballpark, we moved to Arizona. The baseball fan in Frank, fell in love with the Diamondbacks. He took me to Opening Day 2009, because he knew I missed my Orioles and Opening Day ceremonies. Frank's stroke in June 2010, meant he didn't get to many games that year. He messaged their team president and CEO to tell him that 2011, he'd be at more games. That led to an email telling us about the scholarship program, and many games throughout the years. During those years, Frank discovered a favorite player..Daniel Hudson. When Huddy was on the DL to start the season one year, and was introduced with the team, Frank had tears in his eyes. He told me that Huddy couldn't play, but was still a part of the team...just like he was in a wheelchair, but still part of life! The day the Diamondbacks released Huddy, Frank called me crying. He meant that much to him. We found a way, the year he was with the Pirates for Frank to talk to him and get autographs and picture. Then last season, during the season, he was traded to the Nationals. This man here was so happy!!! He got to see his pitcher pitch for his home town team.

Imagine this...you're a lifelong baseball fan, and the very last pitch you see in your lifetime, us your favorite pitcher getting the final out to see your hometown team win the World Series! That's what Frank B Peebles got. The last baseball game of his lifetime was game 7 of the 2019 Works Series. Who threw that pitch to get the final out...Daniel Hudson.
