ForeverMissed
Freda Lorraine (Seeds) Hughes
October 4, 1932-February 6, 2021
"Be honest, true to your word."
Freda Lorraine Hughes, better known as Grandma passed peacefully at home on February 6, 2021 at the age of 88 surrounded by her family. Born to George and Mary Seeds of Downingtown, PA she was raised as a tough country girl in Amish country before marrying and traveling the country. Freda was a homemaker for the majority of her life as well as a talented piano player, seamstress, amazing cook and Grandma to all. Her family would say you never left her house hungry. She has a spaghetti sauce recipe that rivals the pros and a lemon meringue pie that would knock your socks off. Freda was the matriarch of a huge family that included 7 children, 22 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren. Some of the families fondest memories were of listening to her tell stories about how she kept up with her 7 wild children in Carson, CA. Freda was preceeded in death by her parents George and Mary Seeds, sisters Evelyn Reifsnyder and Mildred Seeds, husband Roy Hughes Sr., sons Roy Hughes Jr. and Daniel Hughes, daughter Carolyn Gomez, 3 babies lost before she could hold them, and 2 grandbabies lost in infancy. She is survived in death by her sons Gilbert Hughes(Sonia), Robert(Patrick) Hughes(Mary) and Michael Hughes Sr, daughters Lori Villalpando and Rebecca Dennis, and an army of grandchildren and great grandchildren to carry on her legacy. The family would like to thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

I met you when I was 14 years old and later became your daughter-in-law. We were very close during those early days. I have many fond memories of you and your family. Big Christmases, going to the races, and parties in that little house on Moneta. I have recipes that you taught me to make that have become my family traditions. Seven layer cookies, weiner stew and more. It appears you have left everyone you touched with some wonderful memories. Rest in peace. You ran your race of life very well. God Bless you and the family you have left behind. Love, Rennie Lewis

All our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Remember the memories to bring you peace. I have fond memories of Freda, she helped me get my first job at Two Guys, shared many holiday dinners in her home and going to the Rocky Horror midnight show and she was in front of the theater doing the time warp. Blessings to you all.
