Frederick D. White, 79, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and formerly of Chelsea, Mass., passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013.
He was born March 4, 1934, in Chelsea, to Joesephine Destefano White. Frederick was a retired Revere Massachusetts firefighter, a U.S. Army veteran and Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Deputy. He was noted for saving 57 lives during his firefighting career, and the retired to Port Charlotte to become a Corrections officer under the management of Sheriff Glen Sapp.
Frederick was the father to Frederick E., Dennis E., Brian E., Brendan E. and Charles E. White.
He will be sadly missed by his brother, Edward “Harpo” White of Arkansas; sisters, Tootie and Sister Doll; niece, Robyn; nephew, Kevin; sons; and several other family members.
Services with full honors will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Fla. All those who wish to attend are welcome. The family would like to say a special thank-you to Ric Button. Arrangements are by ICS Cremations and Funerals Inc.
