FREEDA NAPIER DYER, 84, of Kiahsville, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at her residence. She was born Nov. 3, 1927, at Kiahsville, a daughter of the late Lige and Nora Pack Napier. She was a homemaker and member of the Freedom Freewill Baptist Church. Her husband, Claude Dyer, and a sister, Elzena Napier, also preceded her in death. Survivors include three daughters, Alice Hughel and Alpha Dyer, both of Michigan and Aileen (Bill) Parsons of Shiefield Lake, Ohio; eight sons, James Pete (Patty) Dyer, Dennis Dyer and Bobby Dyer, all of Kiahsville, Howard (Jean) Dyer of Ranger, W.Va., Harold (Carolyn) Dyer and Jeff Dyer, all of West Hamlin, W.Va., Tommy (Debbie) Dyer of Huntington, W.Va., and Jackie Dyer of Wayne, W.Va.; a sister, Palmeeda Ross of Kiahsville; 32 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 10 great- great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and cousins
The roses aren't as pretty.
The sun isn't quite as high.
The birds don't sing as sweet of a lullaby.
The stars seem a little bit faded.
The clouds just a little more grey.
And it feels like things won't ever be the same.

The beaches aren't as lovely.
The sky isn't quite as blue.
Still they're sweetened by the memory of you.
The rain is a little bit colder.
The fire is never quite as warm.
Still it seems that heaven isn't all that far.

I'm spending a little more time now,
with the things that mean a little bit more.
I'm noticing the wonders of this world.
