To my big sister Funmi Otuyalo!!!

I know this tribute is belated. I must confess that I'm so heartbroken. Words fail to express the sadness reposed in my heart. Your smile was so sweet and your gait was so gentle. You have left a vacuum that nobody can ever fill. The only consolation that I have is that heaven has gained an Angel. May God comfort pastor Ayo and your family. May God give them beauty for ashes and dancing for mourning in Jesus Name.

You will be forever missed.

Love from the Waziris.

Aunty Funmi Otuyalo,, it is with a deep heart that I write this tribute remembering the first moment we met after my resumption. I would say a beautiful lesson I learnt from the few years I knew you was your ever glowing smile in spite of the challenging situation and your uniqueness in dealing with time as a person. This really encouraged me to know that no matter the situation in this life,, there's always a reason to smile. You will forever be remembered.

My Dearest Aunty Funmi,

Everyone's darling!

I had a beautiful dream of you last night, you were draped in gold, you looked beautifully radiant, smiling and still giving me instructions! Typical! :-).

You lived a full life, bumpy indeed but inspiring. When I saw you less than a week to your demise, you were frail yet so strong, we were all still very much hopeful! As painful as your death and the finality of it is, I'm rest assured that you're with our maker.

Thank you for being an integral part of my of my life. I will miss you so much, your smile, your chuckle, gisting about any and everything. You fought the good fight, you finished strong and the crown of righteousness awaits you. I celebrate you and the impactful life you lived. Rest in peace darling Aunty Funmi. xoxo

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what’s to be,
A resting place along the road,
To sweet eternity
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
But never mean to stay…
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey’s quicker,
For some the journey’s slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We’ll make a great step forward,
And find an everlasting peace,
As our special reward.
To you auntie Funmi, we will surely miss,
Your kindness and soft spoken words,
Rest on dear ma.

Sister Funmi, the sad news of your demise was heartbreaking. You were such a nice and generous person. I remember when I had an accident in 2014, you sent me money to just to support me. That's who you were, ever supportive and kind. You always showed for every meeting/outreach at Benevolence Dept of Hotr, where you served faithfully. I have so many fond memories of you, but let me stop here. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord, till we meet at Jesus feet.

A great person has left us. Aunty Funmi was a person who knew how to appreciate every moment of life. I remember her for her optimism and positive energy. If there is anything I have learned from the short time I was around her in Nigeria, it was how to be a good person. Being kind, considerate, loving and affectionate are great qualities that she had and shared. Your endless affection made you special and rare. I'm always amazed by how much you cared for my family. Rest now, my dear Aunty Funmi because you achieved your mission.

Aunty Funmi, you have taught me a big lesson about procrastination. We planned to see and in your usual manner, you asked me to come with my husband - your friend. I will miss our banter regarding my girls and your nephews; and your office tour most mornings, genuinely wanting to know how everyone was. We will miss you but we find comfort in the knowledge that you are resting in the bosom of the Almighty.

Sister Funmi as I always call you; Words, even the very best of words cannot pay tribute or truly capture the sense of loss that we are all feeling. I will remember you with all our memories from all the days gone before that I was privileged to share with you. It is not the years in a life that counts; It is the life in the years. I believe you are in a better place. May your soul rest in peace.

Go well and stay well....Goodbye, Sister Funmi.

I know Aunty Funmi (as we fondly called her) as a survivor and a tireless woman who for the several years that I knew her, she kept the faith and was never weary in serving the Lord. In spite of all, she was up early and came to work early and did her administrative duties to the best her abilities.

Aunty Funmi, you fought a good fight, you kept the faith and now take your deserved rest. We will surely miss you.

May those of us on this side of the divide take a cue from the exemplary life of service to the Lord that she lived, even at the EXPERIENCE LAGOS and the welfare department of the House on the Rock where she serve tirelessly.
