Furney Green Boone, Jr, 87, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Monday, April 29, 2014 at his home.
A native of Franklin County, the son of the late Furney Green and Florine Holmes Boone. He was a member of Talley Ho First Baptist Church in Stem and worked at Murdoch but retired from ARC.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 1st, 2014 in the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford, 106 Clement Ave. Oxford, N.C. 27565 by the Rev. Eddie Nutt. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving are his wife of thirty-one years, Patsy Wilkins Spurling Boone of the home, a daughter, Vickie Boone Lunsford (William) of Stem, two sons; Jimmy Green Boone (Connie), Bobby Rick Boone (Sally), three step-daughters; Martha Reaves (Roy), Phyllis Mangum (Mike), Dorothy Spurling (Dillard Martin) all of Creedmoor, a step-son, James Spurling of Chapel Hill and twenty-eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Emmett Boone, a step-daughter, Donna Spurling and five sisters and nine brothers.
Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to the Tally Ho First Baptist Church Land Fund – In memory of Furney G. Boone: Attention Becky Boyd, 1692 Saunders Rd. Stem, N.C. 27581.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 1st, 2014 prior to the Funeral Service at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.
