I am truly glad that God created Gail. We have no choice in our own conception, and we have no choice about who our biological relatives will be, but we have a choice about whether we will demonstrate a loving spirit throughout our lives. Gail was a lovely and loving person. Her love and compassion for people and animals was more than enough to create a lasting memory in the hearts of those who knew her.

I think of Gail daily. I loved Gail as a family member, as a fellow reader, and as a sister in the love of God. but I didn't realize the depth of how much I "liked" Gail until she was gone. Liking and loving are different, and we often have relationships that are so simple that the beauty of them becomes second nature and therefore perhaps seems commonplace. We didn't visitas often as we should have because of my commitments and hers, but she was an insightful, thoughtful, and compassionate sister-in-law and friend. I am looking forward to our reunion in the future. May God bless her girls, comfort their hearts, and draw them closer to her and the Maker.

Gail is very much a part of my memories. She was loving and kind, but she was also strong-willed. We enjoyed sharing books and discussing them. For an English teacher, that makes a good friend and sister-in-law. Our lives go on, but she is not forgotten.

The value of a person on this earth can easily be judged by their children. Gail did a good job raising her four daughters to be confident successful people. She was a loving person who went out of her way to make sure those who were important in her life knew that. God bless you Gail! Take care of Madison for us!

Glenn, your tribute to Gail was beautiful and I couldn't have said it any better. For those who don't know me, I am Gail's 1st cousin and I was blessed to spend some quality times with her as children. She had always been the kindest, serene person to all. I miss her already, but know she is with God in his loving arms. Love to all the family and sorry I can't be there.

I cannot describe how blessed I feel to have had Gail in my life. I think a lot of my love for animals came from all the time I spent with her when I was a little girl. She was an amazing grandmother and an all together beautiful person. I'm so happy she had one last Christmas with the family, and with all the love we all have for her, I'm sure her soul is at peace <3

A Little Music Please

April 22, 2012

A couple of years ago, Porterfield UMC sponsored a concert by Jodi Mann.  If you haven't heard her, put that on your to-do list.  I wanted to go, but my husband could not make it, so I decided to make a sister thing out of it.  I invited my sister Katherine, and my sister-in-law Gail to go with me.  Gail loved people and she enjoyed the music with two other music lovers.  We discussed the themes of Jodi's songs and how her talent is both entertaining and inspirational.  I am glad we had that time together.  I don't often take the time that I should to just be with family.  Gail and Kathy provided me with a wonderful time-out that turned out to be one of those lasting memories.
