Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. He was something to everybody, a fantastic friend, an awesome uncle , a great son , a terrific brother even to those of us that didn't share such trivial things like blood or birth parents. But to me he just plain ole Galen Cockrell   That's all that needs to be said. Those that know me definitely know or at least know of this guy. I remember as a 16 year old kid always hearing about this older Galen fella, heard so many stories about him that I imagined he was some modern day James Dean, when I first saw him walk out of his house with ripped up jeans, a flannel shirt and combat boots weighing a total of about 110 pounds I was shocked. LMAO. After sneaking out to go drink beer at the towers I was hooked tho. I started just popping in by myself just to see what we could get into.  For sooooo many years we were connected at the hip. You didn't see me without seeing him and vice versa. He was the tit to my tat , the ying to my yang. He always dreamed big and would come up with some of the craziest ideas and we'd try them all if slightly feasible. He was a gentle giant with a huge heart that would literally give the shirt off his back.....I've seen it happen...true story. We spent about 3 years worth of weekends going wakeboarding , trying to become superstars, even when we were hung over from the night before. We had so many good times on that boat that I will never forget. We've drifted apart over the years due to , well, life but it didn't matter our bond never wavered. I'd mainly see him around the holidays when my kids would always get so excited to see Uncle Galen and what he was gonna show up in, low rider VW bugs, Cadillac Limousines, rat rod motor cycles. He was always bringing stuff to play with them , drones , rc helicopters, hoverboards and enjoyed watching them play with them more than playing with them himself. I am slowly starting to lose the numbness to the news and it hurts so bad I can barely tolerate it. I love you brother , I always did and always will and I will miss you the rest of my days..  Tell James Dean hello and have some good times lined up for us when we meet again.

Galen for me was a person who was always there, meaning if someone needed something and he knew he can help then he was there. He loved his family and friends. He was and is dependable. Even now when we ALL need him most. He’ll bring us together to mourn but most to realize how many of us there are. My best memory of Galen is loyalty of love. I will love and miss him but we have each other. ❤️ 

I hope everyone knows Galen loved you all..He now  will be looking over each and everyone of us...He was a very special person...He had the biggest heart..I am so happy I came in the family 21 years ago..and got to share lots of special memories with him and all of you...Love you all!!!!
