Gareth David Spence was born on March 8th 1981, the only child of Valerie Marie Spence and Gary Spence.

Gareth grew up near Pontypridd, and attended St. Michael's Primary School and Cardinal Newman Comprehensive School (a school he hated, if truth be told!) before leaving home to study at Staffordshire University.

Gareth left his course after one year, due to having to look after his father who suffered from mental health problems including dementia.  He split from his family, which he no longer had anything to do with, in 2006 and lived alone until his recent death.  He worked as a charity volunteer until late 2011, when he had a mental breakdown and his health began to rapidly fail.

Gareth died in Gloucester on July 12th 2012 from heart failure.  He will be missed by those he knew and called his friends.  Thank you for being a friend, Gareth, and may you rest in peace.
