Passed away on January 18, 2021 in Cincinnati, Ohio
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Garifelia Franklin, 83 years old, born on May 10, 1937, and passed away on January 18, 2021. We will remember her forever.
The picture I uploaded was from Gari and my dad's visit in April, 2012. We looked forward to their visits and always had a lot of fun with Gari. She is greatly missed. Aeonia i mnimi tis.
Big Nouna was filled with spunk and spirit. She was welcoming, quick witted, loved to laugh, and had an eye for style, decorating, and entertaining. She was so involved in every corner of the church, from the festival baking room to the church choir to the various clubs and organizations. I will always picture her passing along the tray, painting the red eggs, singing in her church robe, and dying the red eggs. I will also always remember the birthdays and celebrations we all shared over the years. May her memory be eternal!
I have an awesome video I took of Gari and my dad "table dancing" together at Dean Giorgiou's wedding. It was the sweetest thing ever and it made us all smile! May their memory be eternal.
Gari and I worked at Franklin Savings and Loan during the 70's. It was a pleasure working with Gari, a sentiment shared by every single associate at Franklin. Rest in peace, my friend, and thanks for your many acts of kindness.
Gari was a family friend--and actually a family member-- for many, many years. So many years we spent Thanksgiving or Christmas at hers and John's house. We loved having her visit us here in Missouri. A lovely and gracious lady--she will be sadly missed.
To my beloved Aunt Gari, whose birthday I share, you will always have a special place in my heart. Thank-you for a wonderful, lifetime of fun-filled memories and visits beginning in Portsmouth to many places beyond. How blessed our families and your friends have been having you in our lives. Your love and kindness will be forever remembered. You will be deeply missed. "May Your Memory be Eternal"
