Garland “Lee Bone” Newcomb, 60, a resident of 4080 C. Highway 15 South, died Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Durham.
A native of Granville County, the son of Margie Davis Newcomb and the late Edward Lee Newcomb. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army and was medically retired from Double “N” Clearing and Hauling.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Craig Currin and Rev. Dan Hill. Burial will be in the Newcomb Family Cemetery on Highway 15 South.
Surviving are two daughters, Rita N. Williams and Daniel of Oxford, Lynn N. Swain and Rodney of Timberlake, a son, Garland Lee Newcomb, Jr. and Heather of Oxford, his mother, Margie D. Newcomb, a sister, Rebecca “Becky” Bloodworth of Charlotte, a brother, Tommy Newcomb of Oxford and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 – 8:30 PM, Tuesday evening, March 29, 2011 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home.
