His Life
October 27, 2014

Garrett A. Partridge was born in Englewood California to Elenore and Bill Partridge on November 1st, 1939.

Gary and his brother Dennis, were raised in Englewood during their youth and later, in Victorville California. Gary attended Joshua Tree Highschool in Victorville and College at the University of New Mexico.

In 1959, Gary married Beverly Cronkhite in Granada Hills California. Together, they had 3 sons: twins Ken and Keith in 1960 and Keven in 1962. As newlyweds, Gary and Beverly raised their kids in their first home in Saugus California. In 1968, Gary and Beverly purchased a new home in Thousand Oaks California and relocated there until their marriage ended in 1973.

From the early 1960's to the mid 1970's, Gary kept his family afloat working as a computer programmer. Over time, he moved up the ranks and by the mid 70's, had worked his way to Vice President of Information Systems in several banking and savings and loans companies.

In 1975, Gary went out on his own and started an IT Consulting firm, Partridge & Associates, Inc. With his expertise in banking, Gary built up a clientele of Savings and Loans companies in the Los Angeles area.

Having his own business afforded Gary time to support his 3 sons playing basketball, football and tennis in Thousand Oaks. Gary enjoyed sports and rarely missed his sons games. In Ken and Keith's senior year at Thousand Oaks Highschool in 1979, Gary became the teams varsity Basketball Booster President where he provided leadership in the program.

The 1970's was an active time for the Partridge boys and their father. Gary, along with his brother Dennis and sister in law Gail Partridge, enjoyed many family get togethers at their rustic cabin they all shared in Forest Falls California, near Big Bear Mountain. During the early 70's, Gary and Beverly also joined Sunset Hills Country Club and became a tennis family along with other families in our neighborhood (the Jacksons, Stantons and Lombardos) in Thousand Oaks.

The next chapter in Gary's life was marrying L. Ann Ebeling. Ann was from Bellefonte Pennsylvania, home of Penn State University. Gary enjoyed sharing barbs with Ann's family when the conversation centered around USC VS Penn State college football.

For the next 25 years Gary and Ann lived together in La Canada California. This location was within a few miles his office, his Aunt Vivian (Ryan) and later his mother Elenor Martin.

This was a happy time for Gary and Ann. You could not visit their home without enjoying Ann's cooking and their beloved silky terrier, Syzygy (called sissy most of the time). Sissy was the kind of dog that would bark at any noise outside, including approaching visitors and then proceed to lick your face off once you entered the house. Funny dog to say the least. Fastest tongue in the West ;-). Holiday visits were alway fun in La Canada!

Together, Ann and Gary loved to go on long drives to the national parks such as Arches and yellowstone. One of Gary's favorite places to visit was Monterey and Carmel California. Gary loved photography and left his family with a treasure of family pictures and pictures of his trips all over the country and Engand.

During the 1990's, Gary hired his son Keith to help grow his business as a Technical Recruiter and Business Development Manager. Along with Ann as Office Manager and Gary as President, they laid the foundation of his business that would take Partridge & Associates into higher levels of success going into the 2000's. Son Keven Partridge would have opportunities to join the company during this time as well. When Keith moved up to Seattle in 1995, Gary and Ann hired new employees who would help grow his business even further. Partridge & Associates, Inc was Gary's life ambition and he loved being his own boss and company owner. He was the consumate professional and was respected by his peers in the IT Consulting Service industry.

Additionally, Gary became a proud Grandfather when son Ken and his wife Carrie started their own family when Johnathan Partridge and later Meg Partridge were born.

In the 2000's, life for Gary and Ann became more of a struggle as recessions and the overall economy took a toll on his business. Amazingly, Gary still maintained his will to succeed and strong charecter. When family members, his employees or business associates in his profession needed help, he was always there to lend his ear and offer a hand. Gary was a tremendous giver and a great guy to anyone he met.

In 2009, Gary lost his best friend when his wife Ann passed away. It was a tremendous loss for Gary. He loved Ann so much. A year later, he closed down his business. Gary's passing on September 6th came as a surprise to his family. He was in the process of relocating to Seattle where he could be closer to 2 of his son's and grandchildren.

Gary left us all too soon and we think many good thoughts about him and his life. He was a fantastic father, a leader, a gracious family man and an even better person. We will all miss him and hope we have made him proud as his sons,

Ken, Keith and Keven
