I n 1946 29=30 yr old army man oris rexroat fresh out of warwar 2 in uniform went to a pie supper at mount calvary baptist church russell springs ky webbs crossroads community.damron creek rd. He met 19 yr old gladys foley . They met one night he walked her home.she apparently got pregnant that night or near thst time frame. In march 1947 after a difficult pregnancy and a forcep ddlivery 21 inch 3 lb 2 oz gary gene recroat was born.oris rexroat and gladys foley had married in nov.1946. Had moved to webb  crossroads one night somrone set thrir chickrn coup on fire killing the baby chicks.they moved from there oris went to agricultural school to be a farmer.he and gladys moved to a piece of land hre had bought with his GI bill for $800. Built a small two bedroom home with a basement and a outhouse. In 1949 gladys then 22 yrs old became very ill with pneumonia.2 yr old gary pulled a cabinet over on top of himself but wasn't hurt. Gary eent to stsy at his maternal grandmother flossie foley's home on damron creek rd.oris and gladys kept their 79 acre farm and house on damron creek rd.but had to move to louisville ky .gladys was hospitalizrd 6 months with double pneumonia and almost died.oris got a job at louisville ky's medical depot as a security guard. And rented a apt on 4th street downtown louisville ky. They brought gary home with them.in 1950 oris's dad john rexroat died of cancer at age 68. In 1952 gladys's paternal grandparents foley split up. Going their seperate ways.gladys grandpa logan ross foley had no where to go. So oris and gladys offered he lived at their damron creek rd home .he moved in there but died in the house feb 1953 of a stroke.oris gladys snd gary moved to a rented 4 room home in fairdale ky on cherry lane.oris continued agricultural school and worked.gladys stayed home.gary had pet ducks there a collie dog a pedal car a toy.
 In 1955 the threesom moved to new cut rd louisville renting a bigger 5 room home on 5 acres wooded.with dog lassie.they moved to that home .oris got a new job at general electric appliance park in louisville thst was just opening.he was one of GE's 1st employees. In 1959 gary then 12 yrs old the family moved to 9911 larlyn drive fairdale kentucky.they bought this home.Gary had gone to Gavin Cochran elementary when they lived on New cut rd. On larlyn dr a new life began.they had a parakeet named pretty boy it would talk and say happy birthday Gareeee. One winter night while rhey were gone to russell springs ky to spend xmas at gary's grandparents home.their fairdale ky home was robbed the back door busted out.the cold sir gave pretty boy the parakeet pneumonia.he died. Gary thrived at larlyn dr fairdale high school.he made friends with arthur higgs,david carson steve and denny hart.they played ball at tom wallace park and the empty lot next to 9911 larlyn dr.house. and lassie their collie had to be put to sleep on gary's 16th birthday. At 16 yrs old oris and gladys bought gary a red MG sports car.he loved it! He graduated high school at fairdale.and went to college at kentucky southern college. Then he became a school teacher he had achieved a masters degree in math and physics.he taught at thomas jefferson high school 11th grade math and physics.but during 1970s early on racial school busing.and threats at school by african american students he resigned as a teacher. In feb 1967 oris & Gladys had another child a daughter melissa gail.oris was 50.gladys 40.gary liked 2 weeks being 20 yrs old when melissa was born.nicknamed mitzi)*gary at first doted on his new baby sister. In 1971 gary began working at genral electric company GE.where his dad oris worked and in 1969 gladys got a job at General Electric GE.appliance park also.daughter melissa was two yrs old. Gary became a avid hunter.collecting guns making his own bullets in his spare time.he hunted deer,ground hogs.ect.he owned a variety of cars a GTO, a pontiac he sold to his mother Gladys.a 1974 white and black duster. 2 motor cycles kawasawkis. He became a avid skier in 1977 he traveled to boyne michigan skiing.that year he met donna goodlett at GE appliance park.he decided to move out of his parents home.devistating his mother Gladys. He moved to a apartment with donna who was divorced.she had suffered 2 stillbirths in previous relationships.gary had no children.so they moved in together.they got into drugs .donna liked black magic.white magic casting spells.she was bi sexual.and gary ask her to marry him he gave her a engagement ring.in 1978 they moved in together and began a tumulus 7 yr relationship.living in whispering hills apts at 305 flirtation walk 3rd floor near GE appliance park. In 1980s he made a new friend dave Nix they went to rsinbow falls canada on a moose hunting expedition.in 1984 nov.donna left gary for good one night while he was at work.had a moving truck come get all his furniture and her stuff.left him cold.he was so devistated.he had a breakdown.moving back with his parents and sister back to larlyn drive.fairdale.in 1984 dec he met a new woman named murita amspacher from missouri who had a 11 yr old son.she was awidow who had acquired a large amt of money from her late husband.he let them live in his flirtation walk apt.he remained at his parents home. In march 1985 he and murita had a elaborate wedding at the huge 4 bedroom home she purchashed on new cut rd louisville ky.she had gary to sign a pre nuptuial agreement.then a month after the elaborate wedding.they split divorced.she took off with the preacher who married them.in june 1985 he began going to church.he lost weight. On a christian singles outing to a softball game.he met divorced elizabeth mae meadows a cute nurse  by dec 1985 another wedding. 2 months later she became pregnant with their daughter christina marie rexroat born nov 3 1986.in 1985 they bought a cute yellow house at the corner of new way and southside ct in louisville ky with a basement. Started a new life there.in 1990 oris had a stroke was left crippled.through the years gary and liz had financial issues.mortgaging their house. And then getting in debt in 2006 against gladys will gary and liz threw her in a nursing home prison.she soon suffered several strokes.cardiac arrest several times.left a invalid.gary had power of attorney over his mother.in 2007 gary developed brain tumors and malignancys diabetes,high blood pressure. In 2015 gladys died at age 88 yrs old at rivers edge nursing and rehab...gary began his health issues worse suffering from the tumors,diabetes.stage 3 kidney failure.retinopathy blindness in his right eye almost blind in his left.he was in a electric wheel chair he feced himself.he wore a cathether. He constantly told his wife he wanted to die or commit suicide.they moved but kept their house.moved to chapel house assisted luving downtown louisville to various nursing homes in and out of the hospital then to morning point assisted living.he had to go seperatly to his wife to skilled nursing suffering from congestive heart failure was put in lyndon woods skilled nursing and rehab.he died their thurs may 12 2022 louisville.he will be buried may 17 or 18 2022 at the feet of his wifes parents at white oak ridge church cemetery in fountsin run kentucky
