You were my dad's best friend while you were young men and he spoke highly of you. I remember when I came to Lagos to attend the Nigerian Law School. You and mommy accommodated me and my friends until we got accommodation on campus. I pray your soul will rest in peace and may the Almighty God comfort your enire family.

The news of your death came in through text message 12:26 am "we lost our father sir" a death never expected at this time. Calls here and there. What happened? No good or cogent answer as a reason. My dear brother is gone. Everybody in the house woke up to this sad news.

I remember clearly while we were growing up, I knew you as a steadfast, nice and passionate person in whatever you did and involved in. You challenged many of our daddy's decisions that didn't go down well with you or any member of the family.A man of empathy.
Brother mi, a man of great visions, a jolly good fellow, very caring. Infact you meant different things to different people, always stood by his beliefs at all times(my point of let us look at it in another way -No),academically brilliant to the core.

Entertained us while practicing drama skills when we were kids at home. A profession which took you to a greater height of recognition in broadcasting and advertising later in life.

A family man to the core always wanted to be carried along on family issues. Loving and kind, thank you for all you did for Late Yinka.

One among many other pains, is that you were the family encyclopedia,by your death to recall some events accurately may be difficult......My family and the Ariba family at large will miss this aspect of you. Our prayer is thy Lord comfort and give us all the needed strength to bear this *sudden* loss.

Dear Uncle, the news of your passing was received with shock. I could barely function that day... and to think we had been praying for you just the week before.
I pray for strength for the entire Ariba family but especially Mommy, Aji, Omo, Gbénró and Abayomi.
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
It is well.

On behalf of Late Sir and Lady B.O. Ariba and family.

It is very hard to believe that you are gone. He was such a great uncle, so strong, bold, brilliant, a rare larger than life kind of character. Such a huge loss to our family.

But in our heart, you will always stay. Your voice, your wisdom, your speech and your right are so free. Not knowing all that you could have been taken away like a tide shore.

Now you are in that heavenly place, on the wings of the heavenly place. Sometimes, l wonder if it happens for a reason. God has a purpose for all of us. That is why he took you so suddenly.

Death is something we have to live with. Death has no back or front door. When the time comes all have to endure. We will miss you, Uncle Gbenga, so fondly called.
So rest in peace till we meet in eternity.
From the Ilori family.
