Hello fellow friends and family of "Uncle" Gene,

This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Gene Floro, 80, born on December 11, 1935 and passed away on March 5, 2016. Gene Floro was loved by many throughout the nation and over the years. "Uncle Gene" to family and many friends alike Gene cherished deep relationships-where friends were considered family regardless of blood relation.

I encourage all of you to upload your photos, videos, stories, and special moments of Gene here- so that we may all have a unified place for sharing memories.

Gene and we're friends and associates starting in 1971. We created a lot of great advertising together. We sat and solved the word problems many times. I will sorely miss him. Cheers, Gene!

It Won't be the Same, Not Hearing That Voice on Radio Commercials.

Saturday morning we got the bad news that we lost one of the really really good ones. Gene had an incredible marketing sense and was one of the best story tellers I have ever worked with. His commercials stood out and made people pay attention. Him and I had some of the best Marketing philosophy and Advertising theory conversations, he was so much fun to talk to. Gene Floro you will be greatly missed.

The Ski Promotion

March 28, 2016

Gene used to laugh about this story about when he and his co-host on the morning show in Des Moines decided to challenge each other to a skiing contest! They promoted it on their morning show..chided each other. The...the big day arrived. Problem is ----Gene had never been on a pair of skis!!
Yep!   Imagine what happened.
Yes...you most probably imagined correctly!

Gene and I often exchanged memories of our days in radio! The crazy promotions, the people we worked with....

Sure miss those conversations!!
