This memorial website was created in the memory of our loving father, George Albert Greene, 75, born on December 19, 1929 and passed away on April 11, 2005. We will remember him forever.
George Albert Greene, was one of seven children, his parents were George and Genevieve Green. He was a native of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He joined the Army and traveled the world during his military career. He settled in the Pemberton Twp. area in 1972. George served in the U.S. Army for 30 years, retiring in 1981 at the rank of Sergeant Major. He was a highly decorated veteran who served one combat tour in Korea and two combat tours in Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge w/Star, the Bronze Star w/Cluster, Legion of Merit Medal and numberous other awards. George was a former Drill Instructor at Fort Dix and was an advisor to the N.J. Army National Guard. He was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter #27. After retirement from the Army George was employed at Salem Limousine, Suburban Transit and Coach USA.
George was the beloved husband of Trillis I. (McGuire) for over 50 years, devoted father of Joy Delmage & husband David of Candor, NY, Robert L. Greene & wife Angela of Miami, Fl, Robertina I. Daniels & husband Kenneth of Stafford, VA., Gloria D. Handy & husband Eric of Elkridge, MD and Gwendolyn Ann Cook & husband Jonathan of Marlton, NJ, dear brother of Thomas & Robert Gaither of Fort Wayne, IN., Marion Starks of Louisville, KY., and Emmajean Hedspath of Radcliff, KY., Grandfather of Qiana, Ciara, & Robert Jr. and Great-Grandfather of Shatara. Also survived by a host of other family members and friends.
