The second eldest son of Thomas E. and Martha B. Jackson, George united with Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend D. B. Todd, later moving his membership to Sixth Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend John Porter.
George was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. George enjoyed music, cooking, and people. He attended W.C. Davis Elementary School, Carol W. Hayes High School, Selma University, Bishop College, Southern Methodist University, and University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). George educated students of all ages. He taught elementary school, high school, and college-level courses. George also served as a psychologist for Selma Mental Health until he retired.
