His Life

George Belyeu: A son born on December 22, 1938 in Coosa County, Alabama, to tbe late Lawrence and Bessie (Hill) Belyeu. He was one of nine children to help take on the families many businesses like work the land, driving the school bus, fix on cars, and take fruits and vegetables to local markets for trade for goods the family needed. George accepted Christ into his life at an early age becoming a member of New Style Baptist Church.

Before setting into marriage he had a daughter, Cathy (Occie) Harrison of Goodwater, AL. On August 2, 1958 he was joined in holy matrimony to Betty Dean Gumpee.

George and Betty started their family in Central AL and was blessed with five children for this union: George E. (Connie) Belyeu of Kowaliga, AL, Lendia F. Culpepper of Nixburg,AL, Leshia M. (James) Riggins of Alexander City, AL, L. Louise (Timothy) Harrell of Montgomery,AL

They later moved their family to Coosa County close to the family home fronts on Fishpond Road. George provided for his family by driving trucks as a logger. He later started his own business and went to tbe School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences from Auburn University.

George Belyeu: A man and Grandfather

George was a man with a big heart. He would help anyone that asked or was in need. He always had a smile on his face and fresh vegetables and stories to share. Friends and family always stopped by for good times and momma home cooking. He left many memories to share. Especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren  who simply  knew him as "Pa-Pa".  Our "Pa-Pa"  had many talents and always wanted to teach whether it was how to work the fields, take care of the cows, or change the oil and fix the motor in your car he was all about legacy living on.

Those he Preceded in Death

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Bessie Belyeu. His devoted and loving wife Betty Dean Belyeu, his son Samuel Belyeu, three brothers Willie, Chester, and Grady, one sister Laverne.

Those left to Cherish Memories

Seven Children Cathy, Edward, Lendia, Leshia, Louise, Patty, Helen, four brothers, James "Bigman"  (Pat) Belyeu of Los Angeles, CA, Billy (Tisha) Belyeu fo Riverside, CA, Harold (Sharon) Belyeu of New Orleans, LA, and Gerald "Meat" Belyeu of Los Angeles, CA. Seventeen grand kids Eric Harrison, Rico Harrison, Joshua Barris, Rajneshah Belyeu, Kanesha Belyeu, Tyric Belyeu, Calvin Culpepper Jr, Corey Culpepper, Anisha Tuck, Demetrius Tuck, Loucretia Harrell Cook, Latima Harrell, Porscher Cook, Latoya Cook, Patrick Cook, Travis Whiteheard, Kenesha Hicks and twelve great grand children.  A host of nieces and nephews.

George is at peace and is at rest until that day that the dead in Christ shall rise again. This is the story celebrating the memory of George Belyeu.
