George Hicks Herman, 91, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Universal Healthcare in Oxford.
A native of Franklin County, the son of the late Freddie Lee Herman and Lucy Hicks. He attended Fellowship Baptist Church and was a retired healthcare technician at John Umstead Hospital in Butner.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn L. Hicks of Butner, Kathleen L. Overton of Greenville, Barbara Ann Hayes of Holden Beach, three sons, George H. Herman Jr. of the home, Willis L. Herman of Creedmoor, Robert E. Herman of Mebane, a sister, Virginia Howell of Kittrell, a brother, Bill Herman of South Carolina, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Annie Chavis Herman and a daughter, Jennie Mae Lunsford Roberts.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Dan Hill. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 12:30-1:45PM prior to the service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.
Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
