George passed away peacefully at Kansas City Hospice following a brief illness and a long, rewarding life.  He leaves behind his life partner and wife of nearly 70 years, Juby, and their 3 children, 4 grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters, a large extended family, many friends and colleagues.   A Memorial Service for George is Saturday, May 6 at the Brookdale Chapel, Overland Park, Kansas.

So sorry you all lost such a great part of your family. I will always remember Uncle George with his cigar and his smile! He always had a kind word or a word of advice on how to succeed in life! I know my Mom loved her little brother and I hope they are now in Heaven making those beautiful Pysanky and Paska! Hugs and sweet memories to all of you! Love, Shirley

Some of my fondest memories growing up include Uncle George on Lochmoor. These included Ukranian easter eggs, learning to swim at their pool, the dreaded stoogies, black and white films at their house, helping to put up Christmas lights and shuffle board. You were an amazing man Uncle George and will be greatly missed by many. Love ya and miss you already.

It has been many years since I've seen Uncle George & Aunt Juby, but I mostly remember the huge Sirko family including 31 first cousins. We had many get togethers in the 60's. I do remember something special about Uncle George. My father was losing his eyesight and he could no longer do his trade job. Uncle George hired my Dad at Research Designing and gave him a welcome job. My father always spoke so well of Uncle George and I remember sitting on the front porch at home and smelling the "stinky" cigars he and my Dad smoked. I know his family will forever keep in their prayers and memories and I will too!

Condolences to Juby and the entire family.
George and Juby were a popular couple here at Harbor Isles in Florida. Always friendly and willing to help a neighbor. They were surely missed when they moved to Kansas.
We will always remember George fishing on the dock with that ever present 'El Producto' in his mouth. RIP George!

My favorite uncle, Uncle George! It was always a special treat to see him and Aunt Juby and the cousins. Always smiling, and always so kindhearted. Heaven is one star brighter now. Love, "Baby" Donna

During my younger years I shared many great memories of George. First and foremost, he was a dedicated role model and leader of men. He shared his wisdom as a Scout Troop 116 father...as I remember the many camping, canoeing and Mackinac adventures we experienced....and, of course, always with the "finest" cigar. Those of us who knew or were able to share time with George were fortunate to be blessed with his knowledge and sense of humor. A great man will be missed.

Like other young men, I was blessed to be around George during our scouting days. He showed us a model of leadership, a joy of fellowship and a commitment to duty that remain with us today. Rest in Peace George and thanks for the memories and the lessons.

Always loved going to the Sirkos, a parallel universe to the Cleavers. Randy was Wally, I was Eddie Haskell and we know who Ward and June were. Many great memories of Mr. S, but my favorite was when he took us bar hopping to his Ham-Town haunts to celebrate Randy's 21st. That was just another interesting side of a great guy. RIP

George played an opportunity mportabt role in my life. As a "troop 116 father"" George was ever present always with positive thoughts suggestions, a hearty laugh, and the cigar, which I can't ever remember him lighting or smoking! My first real exposure to Chinese Food came with the "Sirko Family ", at some hole in the wall venue in Detroit as he guided us through a seemingly endless offering of bowls. And a senior graduation party at their home! As usual a great time! Lots of room for fun but always the watchful overview to ensure fun didn't get out of control! Tu George for being a great dad and a fine friend to so many other boys! My heartfelt regrets to the "Sirko" family! You were so lucky to have had George with you for so many years being vital... and always George!

Bill and I will be thinking of you all. We remember all the fun times we had at the summer parties Randy & Pam had at their home in Minnetonka, Mn. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.

I could never have spent enough time with Grandpa, but I remember the time we did spend together very well. He thought me so many valuable lessons, and did so through his passions: patience through fishing, temperament through golf, focus through walking the beach collecting shells... and he did it all with a cigar. I plan to pass these lessons on to my grandchildren. Thank you Grandpa.

My Grandfather was a man who would always call the grandkids 'turkey'. He was a true family man who loved all of his family. He taught me a good amount of fishing technique that helps me today. Grandpa had the perfect eye when he was always happy to walk the beach collecting shells. I love him, miss him, and send all my love to him.
